Not sure if I picked the correct subforum, but whatever I guess. I have a question, or a discussion, depends on what you want. A narcissist character, an egocentric character, maybe someone who possesses both traits or even more similar traits. How will such a character react to meeting their copy? And I mean literal copy or a clone. Imagine some kind of fantasy or sci-fi setting where you can clone or copy someone. Another question, what will change if the said copy was gender bendered?
In the novel- the king of faries is now a demon lord, irakiel the Mc who is a narcissist fucks his copy lo

They'd probably admire each other like they admired themselves in the mirror.
Or the inverse. Greatly despise each other since they can now see their own flaw in each other. Worse if gender-bendered since they will surely point out the advantage one sex have over the other and their own egocentric/narcissistic clone will not let that pass easily.

I don't think a narcissist will ever see a flaw in themselves, if you know what I mean. Especially if the other party is the exact replica of you. That's no different from looking into the mirror.

The gender-bend scenario is where the real difference lies. Assuming both of them came from different alternate realities and had lived different lives, they would surely have experienced lives differently. Then it'd be fair to say they were two completely different people, who might or might not hate each other.

The bestgirl of my current story is an egomaniacal dragon girl who buries all of her flaws under a 6 foot thick layer of delusion. If she met an exact copy of herself that had exactly the same abilities and disposition, both would (in an attempt to prove themselves to be the superior one) immediately pick up on one another’s character flaws and start tearing the other apart without a SHRED of self awareness.
What's the name of that story? It sounds right up my alley ?

Right. But let's not forget that the replica is a real person with interaction and effect on the same world as the original. It's bound to be some friction at some point in time and from here the flaw can be seen assuming the narcissism extend to the thought of never being in the wrong or similar.

If this was the exact replica, then they would do everything exactly the same. The moment they met, they'd say the same line and come to realize who they were at the same time. They would think along the same line. Even when they tried to trick each other, it would be the same plan. In the end, they couldn't help but admiring each other and tried to do something crazy together.
