Hey guys! I'm not well interactive with readers and rarely comes to forum. I've been writing this novel (
https://www.scribblehub.com/series/1130379/bloodline-devouring-system-emperors-path/) for over an year by now and published around 128 chapters. I published my story in RR and webnovel too. The thing is, my story has too little ratings and no reviews. I've around 190 readers here but nobody did a review. One reader inbox me that my story is good but when I ask him to do review, he change the topic. Now, I'm wondering whether I should really put more effort on this novel or give up. The only thing that motivates me write more is my passion to become an author.
Good day to you. Before we start, please keep in mind that I am the worst author around here, capable of producing nothing more than shit when it comes to writing. Take any of my advice with a grain of salt.
The good news is, your novel doesn't suck. There's a bare minimum of two favorites per chapter, meaning that even if one is from you, someone is reading it. To maintain such a level of engagement for 127 chapters is awesome. Not-so-good news: I have no idea why you don't have more ratings or reviews. Maybe your antagonists are too weak to create an engaging story, or perhaps your heroes don't struggle enough or don't produce enough of an emotional gut punch.
See, there are various markets out there.
Shippers (those who like to pair characters with each other).
Worldbuilders.
Those who like to create theories (to entice them, you must worldbuild well enough and coherently enough, yet refuse to answer a certain lore element under the barrel of the gun. Once you clear things out for them, poof! They are gone. They are the most passionate crowd (churning out fanarts and world maps even faster than the shippers), but good luck getting any of them intentionally).
Power-scalers (those who like to put characters vs. characters).
What-ifs crowds (who theorize the way your story could've gone if the characters had done a different action).
And many more.
If you want engagement, you need to pick up the group and construct a story with them in mind. With an abundance of AI writing LitRPG, the genre becomes oversaturated, sadly.
Not much you can do fixing it here, as the story is already vast, sadly. But there is always the next one and the one after that.
