Once upon a time, there was a boy… let’s give him a name for convenience. Say, Adolf.

One day, his parents decided to take him to the zoo — to see the creepy animals locked in cages. He looked at the animals for a while and then asked why they weren’t set free.

They told him, “Because they were born and raised in captivity. They wouldn’t survive in the wild.”

Adolf turned to the wolf and asked,
“Is that true?”

“Yes,” said the wolf. “If they let me out, I’ll get my paws wet, fall ill, and die. Just. Like. You.”

I don't know if this is exactly a response to your story, but animals from zoos will return to their cages if driven out of them. Assuming they aren't killed and eaten along the way.

Is it weird I'm bothered by the extra 'l'?

Explain this to me as if I was 6 years old
