I dunno my writing skills dwarf heaven itself so I never have that problem. But if i did, which is inconceivable and thoroughly impossible, i would scrap the entire chapter and start from a different angle. Maybe a different perspective of character altogether or simply change what happensI wanted to ask what do you do when you are writing a chapter and you read it and it doesn't sound or feel right.
Like it is subpar form the last chapters
That sounds interesting, wow thanks for the advice. I honestly never thought of it that wayI dunno my writing skills dwarf heaven itself so I never have that problem. That may work ?.Good question
I suppose it really depends on a lot of things, but I would say change up the wording and play with the tension a bit. Try to put in some sort of twist or cliffhanger that keeps the readers interested or something. Idk my writing isn't too good so this is all I can offer
I tend to write ahead a few more chapters. It can often help me figure out what I want to change on the iffy chapter then go back and change it.
So I should basically write probably 5 chapters ahead of time and then come to it
That is very helpful, thanks for the adviceif you're on discord, scribble hub discord has a workshop channel. (I hang out in there). you put your chapter on a G-doc, copy the link, and share it there asking for help, a bunch of Authors will take a look at it.
That makes sense, no wonder my chapters felt a bit too jammed-packed, like there was too much action or maybe that's one of my strengths.3-5 chapters would give you better overall picture of where you're trying to go with your story.
no problem man. Sometimes you just feel like changing things up and dont know it until you do.That sounds interesting, wow thanks for the advice. I honestly never thought of it that way
Thanks?
i dunno i feel thats only good if you already know exactly what you want for the story. What if you change things last minute in the chapter you are about to release? And it changes the next chapter, and that in turn changes the chapter after that? In the end every pre-made chapter is useless or might require a lot of changes to make relevant again.3-5 chapters would give you better overall picture of where you're trying to go with your story.
I think the same way, that's why I made a general draft of my novel, and a more detailed one for each volume.i dunno i feel thats only good if you already know exactly what you want for the story.
