Random reminder that while it’s tempting to push for certain word counts, to try to maximize readers, and overall strive for better (or what we consider to be), just publishing and putting out your work is enough.

Most people never end up picking up their pen or typing on the keyboard or making the jump to put their work out there.

No matter what stage of writing you are in, you are enough. Even if you are just jotting down ideas and never showing anyone else. The act of creating a story in itself is a gift only humans have.

Celebrate you and your work at every stage of development. You might not see progress now, but looking back you’ll see how far you’ve come. <3

And P.S. sometimes readers get busy. Don’t assume they haven’t read the newest chapter because they didn’t like it. Sometimes they need time too. :)

I suspect I'll come back to this post, find it inspiring, and be really happy.

Right now, however, I just got out of a very stressful conversation about past traumas and I'm trying very hard not to spiral over it.

But this does sound very good.

Take your time and take care of yourself. I hope you feel better soon.

I apologize for this blatant vampire erasure
Thank you, I really needed this because my latest WIP isn't doing so well view wise.
But I will write 200k words for it, so mote it be!
You’ve got this!
In the meantime, I’ll add myself as a reader :blob_highfive:

When I started writing, I made a promise to myself that I'll see my story to the end. Hey, I haven't stop yet so that counts.

I don't need a high count of view, but knowing there are people enjoying my story is such a magical feeling. I am grateful for every one of those readers, they are more of a motivation more than they realized.

The best thing about writing, specifically here in Smut Hub, is I get to meet and talk with people from all walks of life. They make this place feel like home to me, like I belongs here.

This...
Even one like and just a normal comment like TFTC is more than enough for authors like me to be satisfied.

The best feeling would be when the audience themselves start engaging in comments and replying to each other... they start theorizing the future plot points and theory crafting. When this starts happening, you should know that you have succeeded as an author.

That reminds me, that yesterday and today I, probably, looked like a picky a*hole for a few revered authors. :s_frown: And they already did more, then I: my unwritten novel still in a stage of raw idea afrer 10 years... So, I beg my pardon, If my words messed up someone's motivation for creative work.?

I just had a root canal. Just a reminder, I'm a cloud of spite and eyes. No mouth. So that root canal was in one of my eyes. It got infected so they had to drill it out, then put in medication and cap it. This was the final drilling to put in the post cores. Now I got to go to the optometrist to get fitted for a fake eyeball.

So remember, someone always has it worse than you. Quit whining and get back to writing.

True, imagine being a vampy in mid-summer. It's a hard knock life, but vampires can't write. Neither can enigmatic clouds of spite. We are projecting our thoughts.
