I'm in the odd position of having time to post on forums but no time to write.

I want to preface this by saying a lot of the comments I get are really positive, helpful, and even the frustrating ones have pointed out honest mistakes. The top three most irrating comments for me.

3. I hate your book about magic and wizards because it has magic and wizards and that's too much for me. *oooookay?*
2. You released a bonus chapter out of sequence and I'm angry you broke my immersion. *Well, the chapter has the number where it actually goes and I wrote it to thank my readers. Please understand it'll be moved soon.*
1. Your story is meh because your central character is passive.

*Apparently there is a ban on passive characters. My autistic unemployed librarian whose social and financial life is a disaster should instantly become a genius hero goddess. She should know the solution to everything in the first chapter while being massively OP. She'd never possibly handle the destruction of her life and being thrown into a hellscape of a dungeon death game before the cruel and apathetic final bosses themselves with a state of shock and emotional confusion. People who are scared never attempt to summon up a moment of courage or control. Getting swept up into events beyond our control is a thing that NEVER HAPPENS and apperently has no universal connection. Well, you know what, after much agonizing debate I decided that to lean into my original decisions because not all central characters should have the same F-g reactions and personality. I know this is wrong, but sometimes, just F-k nuerotypicals.* :blob_catflip:
I hate your story because it doesn't have enough bulls and cows! lol jk

You see, when readers get mad at me for one thing or another. I get motivation to write.

An example, I remember a while back. Someone was angry about the tragedies and whatnot.

So what did I do? I put on my A game, and wrote something even more tragic. :blob_hide:
Very sigma of you!

Honestly, I think half of my series was driven by negativity. ?

For instance, I remember someone hated a Yuri I wrote a while back. That’s now removed, still thinking to rewrite and release it here.

Anyway, that led into Solem et Lunam.

Solem et Lunam had some hate, which led into Vita et Mors.

Vita et Mors was loved, probably one of my most loved works.

Though, I can’t quite remember what the hate was. However, it led into Azure Night.

Negativity eventually spawned the rewrites, and here we are. :blob_evil_two:

All of this was supposed to stop at Book 3, it ends at Book 9. XD

Yep, two of my most loved ones are Vita et Mors and Azure Night.

I think part of it, is that I am extremely stubborn. When someone tries to beat me down, I always look to rise up and prove em wrong.

I mean, it did led to a sizable enough following. So, it worked out.

It was because of them, that readers got two stories they love a lot.

:blob_evil_two:

Negativity also led into the most controversial finale, that led into the most growth I ever experienced. ?

The general run down.

Is that the build up in the first half.

It led to a lot of drop offs, even got a low rating and whatnot.

Though, it looked like they stuck around as it was releasing.

Since that eventually led into a rapid recovery + enormous gains in followers and favorites by the end.

It is like they read everything I wrote, and couldn’t see I do things in a very specific pattern. ?

I might have once been the somewhat entitled reader. There was this story here that I loved, written by dictatelion. He had a warning that claimed, "If you want to read chapters early, check out my Patreon and SubscribeStar to be 30 chapters ahead." I thought, "Cool." Then he changed his mind to lock his story behind a paywall; if you didn't pay, you'd never see the ending at all.

So I wrote in the comments that he should be honest and warn his readers that the endings are paywalled rather than claim that the paywall sites were just donations to read the chapters early, and he was so upset that he blocked me from commenting and reviewing. I would find out later when I was going to leave a review (a positive one) on his third story (just like I did on his first story) and found out I couldn't leave a review.

All I wanted was for him to be honest with his potential audience from the beginning rather than blindside them at the end. His reaction made me wonder if I was somehow being too harsh.

If you like incest smut (which Patreon hates BTW, I'd support him on SubscribeStar instead) and are willing to pay to see the ending, go check him out. He has talent, enough to have once had one of his stories be the on top ten smut on this site (by popularity filter) currently the story is currently at the 13th spot.

When I was writing 'They call me the alchemyst', a sort of grimdark superpower fiction, one reader left me a 5-page 'note' explaining why and how I needed to turn the main character into 'full metal alchemist'

Later, I had a reader who screamed at me because I mentioned that one male character was a 'gym bunny' (someone who enjoys watching men work out) and was infuriated because I had written minor story arcs for a lot of side characters but hadn't written a gay romance for HIM. He called me a 'homophobic breeder bigot' and a few other choice names. I simply deleted his post and banned him from commenting instead of replying in any way.

Two days later, Royal Road banned me for writing 'provocative and dangerous opinions' because one reader had reported that my book was homophobic. Not because I actually had the character state or think anything bad about homosexuals, but because I refused to respond to feedback from a 'concerned reader' about my book's 'imbalance'.

So far, ScribbleHub hasn't really jumped on me for my stories except for using the word 'b**t**d' in the opening blurb. Then again, here, my books aren't that popular :)
"If this character continues to be stupid I'm dropping." as if they didn't realize I'm writing a woman
How very Jack Nicholson of you.

When I was on KDP, I had a guy scream at me because my lesbian fiction didn't have a happy ending. :blob_popcorn:

That is not being entitled. That is something proper. As a reader, I'd be happy to be notified of that, which is pretty important.

Reader, not a writer.

And also the cunt who posted that without much thought until posting but also too stuck up to change it.

I cited that Roland in Runesmith should grow a spine and become Iron Man expy and maybe grow a pair when getting fucked by nobles in order to fuck back.

The author did do the latter part further on, but by then I had long dropped the story and barely skimmed the portion after fully realising what I should had did previously was not trying to egg the author but instead STFU and GTFO.

"HOW DARE YOUR FANTASY NOVEL HAVE FANTASY ELEMENTS IN IT"
The other person on SH was angry b/c my characters can't keep secrets, which is kind of weird to be angry about, but oh well.
"Only thee who can't keep secrets can pass through this door!"
everyone but a random bird passes through
