Modern shounen manga is trash.

I dropped My Hero Academia for a bit, then decided to get back into to see how it ends. Damn it, Deku.

What I can't understand myself is why is modern shounen trying to akame ga kill themselves... well probably because of the top new gens being basically that but even then I don't see the appeal in just killing off characters other than mature bait.

My bet, they don't think or see past the tropes. They simply stitch tropes together.

Dai Dark, Gachiakuta.
Forgot to mention. I wasn't able to form any opinion on Undead Unluck because I can't stomach the art. Maybe it's really good, maybe it's bad, I don't know.
I fell asleep watching two episodes of undead unluck. I don’t like the art either. The female lead looks like a middle schooler and the male lead is assumedly the male macho version of 1000y/o loli.

ML want to XXX with FL just to have her unluck ability hitting him with max power and kill him ?

no explanation on world building in two episodes, clear fail to me

I’ve never watched AgK. The hype was so big, but the assassin setting was not something I associated with shounen and the art style is so so? I’m even surprised there are so many shounen with assassin setting.

I understand Omnyouji. Blue exorcist and Twin star exorcist had a certain hype and fanbase. They are the only manga that somewhat had a logical omnyouji setting though. Every new manga didn’t seem to have a proper omnyouji system at all.

Horikoshi might pull it back together for the ending, idk.

That time when blue exorcist
did an unexplained timeskip only to reveal it never actually happened and was just a possible future
still makes me laugh. I don't know why I'm still reading it.

Not a shonen or a josei rec, but read Sora wo Matotte, it's a seinen about a high schooler obsessed with drawing nudes.

What's incredible is that the MC makes it cultured instead of degenerate
Will read. Made me think of Season of Alabaster.

Everything is generic. We live in a simulation. Somebody should write a shounen about Sailus trying to exit the simulation played by Keanu Reeves

Yes, the simulation we live in is so badly done that the admin accidentally copy pasted the flavor of carrot on mango, and Sailus discovered it.
