Ye, understandable.
Physical server is located in Germany, however it has a very, very robust connection to basically anywhere. So unless your own ISP is doing something crappy, or you are connecting via satellite, the ping should be always below 80ms.
Me who happened to be from germany...

Hio~

Recently, a lot of resources on my private server were freed due to various reasons, and I don't really have what to do with them right now.
So, instead of letting them waste, I thought that maybe I could create a Minecraft server for this community. Assuming, that is, if people would want it.
The server should be capable of hosting 150~200 people on vanilla and 50~80 modded, based on how many resources I can allocate to it. And yes, an "unofficial" client would be able to connect too.

The question is: Is anyone interested?
The server would be running on Java version.
Modded (and what mods) or unmodded can be decided later, among people wanting to play.

I'm also open to private servers for other games, if someone would like it.
Can't promise anything here tho, as it would heavily depend on resources and availability of the server software.
All the Mods is always an option: 10, or to the sky, etc.

Whitelist it with a register form, whoever breaks the server rule gets pegged

I will break all the rules then. I once made a lag switch by accident (apparently chicken farms should not be too large).
About 15 years ago at a local LAN one of my friends built an underground villager breeder farm, we wondered why the server was sporadically lagging took us a while to find it and a few of the potato computers crashed when they got to close to it :ROFLMAO:

i voted yes but I wouldn't be able to play :( I don't own a java version of minecraft.
Like I said in the main post, the "unofficial," or as someone would say, a "borrowed" version will be able to play too :)

Yes, you do. Ot was not a time limited offer. They are still giving it for free of you have Java.
They do? Where? I don't see it in my account :(

Getting <80ms ping everywhere is just physically impossible, no matter how "good" or "robust" your server connections are. It's simply the laws of physics limiting you, unless your everywhere is just Europe.
Just had a little look, no noticable gains (for PoE2). looks like New zealand (and australia) are cable fucked when it comes to internet.
Your theoretical minimum ping is around 79ms, but that means a lossless fiber optic line connecting the closest border between new zealand and germany in a straight line. And that's assuming no overhead whatsoever.

You'd be lucky to get 200ms ping irl.

Yea its 18500km in a straight line, probably over 24k cable length depending on how straight it is over land in USA + whatever data centers it gets routed through.
