I once had a moment burned into my mind by one of my college professors. Everyone hated him, but hey, I love to give everyone a shot. I should have listened to the others.
The one phrase he said to me that stuck to me was:
"I wish you were as smart as you are sweet."
I did not know what to do with that. But being as sweet as he made me out to be, I turned and said,
"Thank you."
I feel like maybe I should have said something else. But I learned that day I would listen to others when it came to rating professors. They may not be wrong.
If it was a compliment or an insult, I could never figure it out.
Keep in mind the second part of this course I passed with a B with another professor, while in his course the first part which I had to self teach myself I passed with a C. Physics, I thought I would have regretted not taking calculus for that class. Algebraic Physics is... horrible. Especially self-taught.
Another lesson for another life, I guess.
Has anyone had a memory like this? One memory burned into your skull, with an excellent lesson?
*Edit to clarify better. I sometimes eat words, I mean to write. I don't know why.*
