Have you ever made up or keyboard smash names for your characters, cities, weapons, etc. only for when you press space bar, the red line doesn't appear under it? What words did you find out for the first time that actually exists?

That's even better than when they don't exist!

I once thought that I was like a cool kid, inventing a name 'Arcadia' and thought that no one was using the name. Turns out that Online games actually proved me wrong.

It also proved me wrong AFTER I change my new name to 'Arcana'. And this was before adding Blade to my name.

Named a character earlier who filled a sort of role as a "hero" with the intention of being replaced by the real protagonist.

His name, coincidentally, can translate as "second hero". What serendipity!

In my language, kanan means right as in left-right. I'm always tempted to slip in my language when making up names cuz honestly, it sometimes does fit as a gibberish fantasy name lol

Well, there's only 26 words afterall.

When we're msking random names, We're not trying to be random for the sake of "randomness".

We're trying to get name as quick as possible without pondering too much time.

Look, even the name of Half Life 1's "Black Mesa" and their location in "somewhere around New Mexico" is actually decided on the spot, for less than 5 minutes, with some "randomness".

They use the tactic of "raise questions" as much as possible, And then let the fan make up their "Fanon" asnwer later on. All to save time.

We know that too much randomness would be absurd, and do not make sense at all. Things have to be interconnected ro some level.

It's funny, if you rely on your brain to make up random stuff, you will never get a truly random result. At best your brain will approximate patterns it is already familiar with.

True. Maybe the 'random' words we came up with that's not necessarily random we've encountered it at some point of time in the past and our brain just goes, 'huh. That sounds kinda nice.'

I believe that is the case. Over the years I came up with multiple "random" names for various characters, by stringing together mostly random letters until I got a result I liked... all of them I eventually found already exist in one language or another, with most of them being relatively common for their respective regions.
