The Glossary, as it is currently, is neigh unusable for any story with more than 10"ish" characters as it gets so bloated that it's basically a wall of words where you're searching for the character you want in a long list. This is not ideal. Something more similar to the wikia format would be more effective here, with the ability to connect related entries and having everything under types. Maybe a dropdown list rather than how it is currently. Like you can look at all characters at once, or places, or items of interest, etc... Not sure if you can host wikia style pages within the website but that would be the ideal if possible since it's user-friendly and most people are familiar with the format.

I always like this function, but the rest...

I like having the Glossary on one page. It feels sleeker. My only real complaint is that the internal formatting is so awful. If the editor was more like the one for stories, or even like the one for this forum, I'd be much happier.

Even then, all I really want is consistent line breaks. If the enter key creates a different amount of space every time you press it, I feel sad. Probably not worth the effort of fixing, but...

Why not have the glossary used as an external link database towards your own "homemade" webpage. This way you'd have whichever definitions or terms described the format you want it in without the concern of how this glossary functions. It'll at least be a nice alternative until the feature is improved.

Yes, a fandom-type wiki (used to be called wikia) would be a major facelift. Ai-chan assumes it will be a pain in the butt to program, but Ai-chan does like having a built-in fandom/wikia wiki pages as glossary.

All of those run on an open source framework called "mediawiki," which was originally developed for Wikipedia, so it would really only be on the scale of building Scribble Hub or Novel Updates from the ground up.

Still fairly big, though.

In other words, not possible. Damn I was hoping it wouldn't be THAT difficult to code. I knew it would be a bit difficult but that much...? Damn. Welp I guess I'll just keep working on my actual Wikia page for my novel!

A more reasonable approach is possible: use the existing layout for making books to make a glossary.

I've seen several of these "glossary series" show up before. It's kind of a work-around for now.

Adapting the existing system to generate a better glossary would be a much, much lower bar to rebuild. Why remake everything only the last part needs changed?
