Just something to think about: A boisterous young man ventures into the woods, only to get attacked by his jealous rivals who permanently disable him. Magic healer says he's unable to fix such a wound. Young man goes back into mystery forest to seek power from magic old lady. He gets injured further because he was reckless. She finds him and does a whole montage of him healing. Converts him from young fighter -> soup man. He makes peace with himself and decides not to take revenge, then heals himself using the power of soup.

You know...when I first read soup man...I thought it had turned into a sinister plot twist where the old lady was a witch/hag who had turned him into magic soup because his injuries were so severe that she just decided to cannibalise him instead.

But then I realised you went a heart-warming route and he was just recovering by eating magical soup.
