Looking to Commission!

I’m probably going to get a dearth of “pick me, pick me” requests for this, but I’m looking to commission a cover art for my story anthology series, ““Before The Fall” as a way to try and promote the stories. While the current series of stories is a complete arc from start to finish, I need for the cover to be a little more abstract.

To help limit things, I also need for the artist to have read what I have so far. If the artist needs more inspiration, I can give synopses of the other stories so they have more reference material to work off of, but what’s actually important is keeping the art free of characters in the story.

You'll probably have better luck at a place more focused on art over writing. You could try Newgrounds, for instance, and I'm sure there are others.

I do have a budget, thinking $150 should be a fair trade, but I want to avoid the constant back-and-forth this time around. I give the story, let the artist go nuts. If that’s too low, then that’s fair, but $150 is just to open negotiations.

I personally have had three scammers try this (though they went via PMs not open forum posts) in the past few months, and several other people here have seen it about that often a week.

For now, I’m working with an artist, but what would you propose? Feel free to PM me here if you want to keep Others from “stealing your ideas.” I’m not much good with art, and I’m still working through that first gallon of ink, but I’m making good progress on that front, at least.
