Recommendations Looking for the best 18+ stories with actual scenes

I've used the filter for Smut and read some of the top recommendations in terms of popularity and favorites... but these are all pretty bad.

Mechanical/boring or just out of place scenes which are poor.

Any real recommendations for this category? Looking for stories where the spice makes sense with the story. The emotions, the relationship etc.

So far this has been the best I've found - Their Wonder Years: Fall 98

While the smut is very well written, I love the plot in:
Rebirth of the Nephilim
Lilith: Origin of Succubi

The depth in the relationships always blows me away, and the narrative is coherent.

If you're not against self-advocacy, I write content meant for adults but with actual early Riordan-like story structure. But I do tend to wax very internal and poetic.

Ah, apologies. I was referring to the author of the Percy Jackson novels, one of my earlier inspirations. I feel like I've moved to a deeper place than he ever did, now, at least in terms of thematic depth and character-specific weight. I'll be working on that, and I do tend to play on the slow burn at first, but things are going to get going soon, I promise!
Any and all constructive feedback is welcomed and encouraged. I want to start some dialogue on this stuff!

I'm progressive but I'm having a hard time passing that off as "normal." Most LGBT+ people see the term 'futa' as a slur anyhow.

In reality? They wouldn't be acquired, they'd be built-in. And the term is transgender woman? As opposed to a cisgender woman, who is aesthetically, (assumed to be) chromosomally, and gonadally female. For fiction where it is acquired, I suppose one could make an argument for reclaiming the term, but it's one that comes with baggage. 'S all I gotta say on it, tho. May harmony find you. :)

The adult scenes (when they arrive) are never mechanical; they're extensions of character arcs, governed by the same 'Law of Cost' that drives the magic system. It's about intimacy as vulnerability, power, and sometimes, weaponized truth. I try to write stories that are self-sustaining, internally logical, and thematically consistent, informed by a Series Bible they have ended up changing and expanding upon as well.

How about a straight hardcore BDSM story exploring the limits between consent? This story is about a really horny female superhero pushing her husband to do things he is not comfortable with at first, but over time she successfully corrupts him.

You’re spot on about the 'mechanical' feel—if the spice isn't an extension of the emotional arc, it just feels like filler. I spent a lot of time trying to solve that exact problem in my book "Bound". My goal was to make sure the intimacy actually feels earned and that the relationship shifts because of those moments, rather than just hitting a word count.

If you're looking for that grounded, 'connection-first' vibe you found in Their Wonder Years, you might find my stuff hits the same itch. I'd love to know if it lives up to your 'non-mechanical' standard.

Interaction of my readers and constant updates.

I really blew up over the last 3 weeks or so, though it is starting to cool off again.

I am not exactly sure how the algorithm weighs everything, but I had a ton of people chatting in the comments, and I responded, on top of a bunch of people adding it to their reading list. That kept me at No. 1 every few days for over a week on trending, and usually in the top 3 to 10.

It seems to kick you off the following day for 24-72 hours, but I dunno if that is because my metrics changed or others had changed and I got knocked back, or something else entirely.
