The difficulty I have is it's.. kinda generic. Possibly excessively so. Makes finding it a real challenge.
It had the protagonist join with a small party, outgrow them, join up with a druid lady, and later on some sort of snake-person (naga?). He was a mage but used weapons, too. Levels are slow and kinda a big deal; he was something like level 5 and that was notable. In the later chapters, I think he found an egg of some sort?
Basically, it very much had a 'he's the chosen one look how awesome he is' vibe, but it was a nice filler between other stories.
