Not an issue for me as I intend to rot with my profile but I think it's odd that people have to publicly announce their intent to delete their profile and request that Tony does it for them. Surely he's hella busy and the process feels like someone requesting to be shot in the middle of the market

Yeah, they were afraid that, being one of the sites managers, he would accidentally delete other accounts (or his own again, but in a way that it could not be recovered), so this is a feature that needs to be carefully considered.
..? why not make it just for the mods.

Not sure if the board software did not have that option, or they were worried that people would accidentally delete their own accounts so you had to make a request to a board moderator - or a DIFFERENT board moderator if you were one yourself.

I feel like this could solved either 2 step verification...or like a popup or two confirming it lol.

Well, to be fair, you don't have to publicly announce it. PM or email is always a choice.

I think people announce it publicly hoping someone would stop them :blobrofl:

Just kidding... maybe?
