10k views, 250 readers, 12 chapters, 4.6 stars and finally, the cherry on top, a one star rating.

No review to go with it though, sadly.

How did you all feel when you got your first? Was it a moment of introspective enlightenment? Or perhaps something less cerebral, like a wet fart in a crowded room with headphones on?

Congratulations! ... I guess?

Someone gave me a one-star rating when I started posting my work.
I remember being very peeved, going to the SH Discord server and asking if it was a normal thing.
The rating ended up being removed a month or two later. It turned out to be someone who gave everyone a one-star rating.

But I got to know a lot of cool people in the process, so it was overall a positive experience.

I learned not to care about those when I first started writing years ago back on RR. I've been hit by dozen half star ratings and grew to focus on the positive ones and the constructive reviews, the ones that can actively help me improve. The others? Meh.

I never really gotten a 1 star rating at first since people seem to enjoy my novels. So when I first got my first 1 star, I didn't expect Zeus to rate it so bad that he had to personally came to me and cut off my electricity for 3 days just out of spite.

From then on, I became cautious to publish any of my works, fearing the 1 star rating to come back and zeus returning to send me back to the stone age out of spite.

Don't worry—I just got three. People apparently don't like how my protagonist acts because they want her to be emotionally perfect and have no weaknesses.

I don't have one here, but aI have a random 1 and two star on RR. Upsetting, but nothing I can do about it.

From what I’ve seen, most novels, after hitting 250 or beyond, get at least one 1 star. Scribble Hub is a pretty big place, with lots of readers and writers, and chapters, and novels. A single 1 star doesn’t mean your work is bad. Rather than a wet fart, it’s more like a piece of human fecal matter in the middle of NYC that everyone just steps over and doesn’t touch or bother.

You've summoned the one and only whore to exist in this godforsaken place.

I'm giving your story a one star rating.

As they would think, "It's fantasy, so it should be emotional, yes?".
I personally hacked the user, tracked his IP down, and sneaked into his home to leave a bag of cat poop behind his drawer. I don't think he ever realized what was making his room smell so bad for weeks.
"Personally"

Now I know why you're siding with the Eldritch Family.

Wow, you really did? Is that really necessary?

Either someone doesn't like my work, simply has a bad day, or just trolling. Whatever their motive is behind that rating, it doesn't really matter. You can't please everyone, and you don't want to anyway.

Having a clear vision of why you write in the first place and who you're writing for will help you focus on what truly matters and weed out unnecessary things.

My very first rating was a 1 star, before I even hit 500 views, so fuck me I suppose. Though, I don't very much care. I like my shit storm I write and that's all that really matters.

Really? What did my story did wrong?
I swear to god, you do not belong in this forum.

You- Huh... You didn't even understand why I gave your stories 1-star ratings...

It was because you summoned K5... Do you still not get the joke?

You should be happy with it.

You never know just how many people I've met that badly want attention.

Heck, my stories didn't even get any ratings besides my own. Be glad, alr?
