4) Are you ready to accept a real harem life in real life?
5) what are your opinions about real life harems?
First thing should be properly defining harem. When it comes to tagging webnovels at least here on Scribblehub, it's not only used for the typical one guy multiple girls harem (along with reverse harem for the opposite constellation, of which we have one confirmed proponent in @K5Rakitan), but also for more complex constellations that fall under the polyamory umbrella.

Personally, a classical harem would be nothing for me, but being part of a Sapphic polycule would be dope.
I'd also be all for updating our laws to properly reflect non-monogamous constellations.

Real Life classical harems are, tbh, a bit creepy. I'm really not a fan of the power dynamic and almost inevitable rivalries that come with one central person being the exclusive target of the attraction of everybody else.
This includes constellations besides the typical one guy and multiple women, though that one has the bonus of tangentially reinforcing outdated, if not harmful stereotypes about men and women.
If someone wants to be part of a classical harem, I'd be all for recognizing it legally too, of course.

You caught my point! Upon reading something like the above mentioned scene ( aka child rape), what cross the mind first is: the person who wrote this may support child rape? Even though I know it may not be the case.
I dunno man. How young we talking about? Some girls these days be 14 looking like they short 20 year olds. I mean i wouldnt rape a kid, but i'd be lying if i said i haven't seen sexy, slutty looking 14 year olds on Tiktok that made me think, "i'd blow her back out"

That aside, smut and harems go hand in hand for me. I cant write a harem and NOT include sex scenes. Like what kinda nonsense is that? I aint gonna blue ball my readers. I mean, real life harems kinda suck unless you're from a country where women know their damn place....either in the kitchen or under my dick, specifically....but other than that most harems in real life lack a lot of appeal. But fictional harems can be fun to read or watch. I like drama too, so any infighting between heroines is also pretty entertaining.

I know this isn’t really what this is being asked, but felt like giving some insight into why we’ve been led to believe polygamy is morally unacceptable.

If we’re being honest here, the real root reason polygamy isn’t accepted isn’t particularly about morals or stuff like inheritance issues like we’re led to believe. In nature polygyny is actually much more common than monogamous relationships and there are pretty good reasons for that.

When you get stuff like polygamy happening, you see an accumulation of power under certain groups of people. It’s effectively what gives rise to the birth of kings and queens. Polygamy can lead to the accumulation of vast fortunes in a short amount of time. Effectively hoarding wealth within these large households that form can lead to an unhealthy dysfunctional economy over time and major disparity between people not in their circle.

In reality, the government just doesn’t want such large households forming because they can become a huge threat to their authority, stability, and ability to govern. King-like figures existing under a democracy, the government wouldn’t be able to control these large households very easily or interfere with what they’re doing if they allowed for polygamy.

A man with let’s say two hundred wives could raise a loyal army out of thousands of child soldiers in a pretty short period of time. Half the wives could be pumping out kids while the other half takes care of them/educates them while they also work to accumulate money. If the household becomes too large and gains too much power, the government may reach the point where they cannot touch those households without paying a heavy price.

This is why the government would nip the problem in the bud before it’s allowed to gain a footing. In history, extreme examples have been made of such people. Such as outright publicly killing the man in broad daylight and leaving the women and children without any means to fend for themselves. Why go so far? To set an example. This is wrong. Do not become like them. It’s to implant the fear of it happening to others. That would be the true origin of what we view as monogamy being morally correct.

You also see genetically superior males taking up the female population leading to other males unable to find a partner. It sounds unfair, but it’s just nature at play. Humans are essentially salty and can’t accept that they’re inferior to someone else and that they’ll be left out.

These are some of the conclusions I came to when actually writing polygamy and crunching some actual numbers in excel for household incomes just for some minimum wage stuff. The tax system for a monogamous society just would not work for a polygamous one.
meh thats all not the reason. I mean, it is the reason but the money isnt the issue. The goverments in today's society dont give a fuck if you use this to hoard wealth. Most money is digital, only a fraction of the worlds wealth is in physical cash--not counting things like gold or other valuables. The goverments can literally create money from thin air. They do that all the time.

The real problem with polygamy isnt that goverments are scared you're gonna hoard wealth. They are worried about the effects of too many people becoming wealthy. The entire monetary system is specifically designed to force you into labor. You want food, water, shelter? The very BASIC needs for life? You need money to buy them. And if you want more than just these three basic needs, like a new game or a fancy watch? You also need money to buy them,

Our entire lives revolve around a constant need for cash and the only way to get that is to work. And who do you work for? For whose sake are you laboring? The very top 1 % of people who control the world and have amassed great wealth. They need you to continue working for them, so they made it impossible to live without money.

Money that they provide for you in exchange for your labor.

What does this have to do with polygamy? Well if too many people start amassing great wealth, people will stop working. If enough people stop working, well the world is fucked cuz who wants to pick up trash when they are rich? You give everyone in the world 10million dollars, everyone quits their jobs and no one is controlling and maintaining our power supply.

And also now those top percenters have no one willing to serve them, either. So you are right it would hurt the authority of those in charge, but only because it means they cant use money to control people anymore. TAnd of course cuz our infrastructure as a society would be in danger.

There really wouldnt be a reason to even have a monetary system in place at that point, so the top percenters would just become regular Joes. They dont like that idea, obviously.

Truth is the monetary system is just a more sophisticated form of slavery and its only kept around to keep those in the highest echelons of society in power. We dont even require a monetary system with our current level of technology. We have the resources to just, like, GIVE people the things they want.

Oh good! That's what I'm planning to write and I was wondering how that worked here.

You reminded me of our country's old tradition when kings and aristocrats marry another countrys' princesses. Thus creating an 'in law' bond. The countries that are allied with political marriage will join the war at the request of any power within their alliance.

"Women means power".

We can twist and turn its meaning to any situation now.

Okay, like I said I want to ask something to smut and harem writers.
I usually don't read these above stuffs as it is really unacceptable for these concepts to my humble life. So I just wanna ask:
1) Are you writing this super hot works based on your pure imagination or your ideological concepts?
2) when you read your own smut works, what would you feel?
3)Do your parents, close relatives know about your hobby?
4) Are you ready to accept a real harem life in real life?
5) what are your opinions about real life harems?
6)Do your close ones read your works? What is Thier reaction?
7) Any underage smut authors here?
8) reason for writing this?

There are a lot of smut-harem works here. As I couldn't accept those, I am always wondering about these things.
Don't take it for offense lol. I just couldn't hold onto my doubts anymore. It's killing me.

Okay, someone asked me why I questioned this.
It's like this. I happened to stumble upon a chapter in the trending at the home page when I was still exploring a website's function.( I was new). And the chapter was like... Irk... A boy f**king his own mom. I didn't expect to read something like that. (I am not criticizing. It's my own fault as I did not check the tags beforehand). And that experience; I thought if that guy/girl's mom were to read that stuff, what will be her reaction? I know it is just clear smut. But can't help thinking like that.

( Why do I feel like I am the unreasonable one here lol?)
And I noticed that the author had issued a strong content warning before the chapter.
Seems like my IQ is too low to match up

I always thought that the anonymity of the Internet made people braver to publish works like that. Didn't imagine they were sharing their work with their parents  I don't think you're being unreasonable.
After all, what is a forum for if we can't ask about other people's perspectives?

Thank you for these questions
I've just started sharing mine, so it's a good time for me to think about these issues

1) I think Althusser's right that ideology constitutes us as individual subjects so I'm not sure if we'd have imaginations without ideology.
2) Mischievous
3) Not in contact with my parents.
4/5) Real life poly relationships are absolutely fine but take a hell of a lot of work. Real life harems centred on one person probably take even MORE work not to fall into dangerous power dynamics, but of course that work is possible with consent and good faith.
8) Goofing around.

1) Personal experience
2) I feel warm and fuzzy
3) My mom knows my pen name, but she respects my privacy, and she's too busy to read my writing anyway. My husband beta reads my work, and my boyfriends read it, too. One of my boyfriends complained that he couldn't read it at work because it made him too horny. I tell my other close friends about it, but I'm not sure if they are really reading it or not. I'm an only child, and other relatives do not know.
4) See 1
5) Destigmatizing polyamory will make life better for monogamous people because it will allow everyone to be honest about the relationship style they want before people commit to a relationship.
6) See 3. I would like to add that my husband is indifferent to my writing, but he knows it is important to me, so he goes along with giving me feedback.
7) I'm sure they exist, but I'm 32.
8) To make the world a better place. See 5.

Yes, yes indeed! If you read my story, you'll notice that Joan's boyfriend Marc has a wife and her husband Michael has a girlfriend. In real life, my husband is too busy playing video games to find a girlfriend. My boyfriends have other partners, though.

Currently, I have a dead boyfriend (2015) and two living ones. However, I'm not seeing them in person due to the pandemic. When I gave birth several months ago, I texted my boyfriends from my husband's phone in the labor room because mine didn't get reception at the hospital. Thanks to the pandemic, we know this baby came from my husband. Otherwise, we would have been 98% sure until we ran a DNA test. Actually, it would probably be obvious a few hours after birth since my boyfriends have more melanin than my husband and me. One of my boyfriends said that black babies look white at first because it takes a few hours for their melanin to show up.

Before we got married, my husband said he would accept an "oops baby" from another man if it was truly an accident, the result of a broken condom or something. My husband really wanted to be a dad no matter what, even if we had to adopt a child. Of course, he's very happy that he's the biological father of our baby.

I won't be getting any pussy in this life, no sir. Not with my obsession with anime girls. Unless I find a Yandere who's obsessed with me, then maybe I will be.

Why do I feel a creepiness from here? Okay, when girls say, it will be like: men must know their place. Either in the pig farm or under my skirt. (I read this kind of declarations in the synopsis. So I had a little knowledge about how to use them?)

That's the concern behind the question.

Imagination comes from ideas. I was wondering with works like "I don't even know whom I f**k. I will f**k whoever I want".

I just remember about this part.

if you define underage as someone under 18, or in other words, a high schooler. then i think i know few of them in real life who does that back in the day.

but all of them are girls, and near half of them writing yaoi fiction.

as for the boys? they didn't wrote smut, most of them are focused on improving their grammar and sentence instead of writing random smut hornily, the furthest they would go is wrote something with ecchi fanservice like accidental boob grope or pantyshot, i wouldn't call those as smut.

1) Are you writing this super hot works based on your pure imagination or your ideological concepts?
Personal experience and imagination
2) when you read your own smut works, what would you feel?
Depends on how well the chapter is written, but usually, my own stories don't arouse me since I am too much into editor mode when I read them
3)Do your parents, close relatives know about your hobby?
Hobby in writing yes, hobby specifically for a harem? not really just as they dont know I write fantasy or isekai. I have starter rather recently and it's not something I really care to brag or talk about.
4) Are you ready to accept a real harem life in real life?
Why? I write historically-based stuff, which also includes slavery and wars, which doesn't make them acceptable in modern life.
5) what are your opinions about real life harems?
Depends if it is consensual - if no one is under duress and no one gets hurt they can do whatever they want.
8) reason for writing this?
So I can get better at writing sex scenes. My story was chosen so that I could write about many things and subsequently gain experience from doing so. Perhaps one day when I am good enough I will write a real book, and by that time I won't have to worry if I can write a scene or not.

Sex is a natural part of life. And when done right is beneficial to all parties involved. The biggest issue is societal - it is assumed it is bad and taught that way. That it needs to be hidden, ashamed for. Honestly better sex than descriptive acts of violence in my opinion.

These look like questions for me, someone who basically only writes bad harem-smut.

1. Purely based on imagination.
2. Pain.
3. I lie to everyone around me about everything I do.
4. Sounds just as fun as it does tiring. Probably not tbh.
5. As long as everyone consents and it doesn't devolve into weird power dynamic shit.
6. I deliberately make it hard to find my works for people who know me, as I don't want anyone seeing the stuff I put out online :L.
7. I hope not.
8. Because I wanted to. No deeper reasoning.
