So I was wondering what internet services are like around the world. Here where I am from, mobile devices that access the internet via SIM card mostly use 4G, 4G+, and 5G. All low bandwidths below 4G have been discontinued, and 5G is rapidly spreading.

For a couple of years now, the charging services have been like this: you pay for a certain number of months, such as 1 month, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. All plans come with free worldwide calling, but the service is limited to just calling or with 1.5 GB to 3 GB of internet per day. You can add more data as an add-on to your prepaid plan, up to 100 GB. However, your daily data will refresh at 12:00 AM. This is for prepaid customers.

For postpaid customers, you pay a monthly bill and can use as much data as you want. However, prepaid is more cost-effective for personal use. Fun fact: 5G is totally free until it becomes fully accessible nationwide. That's pretty cool!

Now, let's talk about fiber optics. Here, all fiber optics plans are unlimited, meaning you can use as much data as you want. The price depends on how much bandwidth you want, from 2 Mbps to a full 1 Gbps for regular customers, and up to 100 Gbps for businesses or industries, tho if you want you can upgrade it but even I don't think it's worth it.

I don't know anyone who uses more than 20 Mbps, and I use a 10 Mbps plan. However, if I had a 1 Gbps bandwidth, it would be amazing. Everything would load in seconds! Now that I think about it, that's pretty cool. And I'm from the countryside! What about you guys?

I use 1Gbps Internet, tis very fun. Having upgraded from a very slow download speed due to hardware limitations(shot hard drive that worked at about 10Mbps) I can say that the upgrade is godly.

I pay $30 USD a month for my phone plan and I get unlimited internet and calling. as for my internet, it is provided by my employer and it is shit.

I don't know if that much is regular there, but I heard postpaid users spend around ₹2000 too so I guess it kinda makes sense ... $30 is kinda ₹2400 .. .. still too much..

That's the cheapest phone plant you can get in America. Most of them are $50 - $60 every month. The only reason mine is so cheap comparatively is because I am on a family plan.

no such thing as unlimited here. common bandwidths are 200, 400, and 600 gbs. very expensive. speed depends on the infrastructure. we got fiber installed so something like 30mbs/s

Here, in most cases, internet speed is left at your provider's mercy except for one that is more expensive than others but actually gives you service. We pay 8 bucks for cable + 100mbps internet with unlimited data (what living in a third world country does to prices,) and for a phone plan, I actually have one that is too good, for five bucks a month I get 20 (they also have a weekly pinwheel, which gifts data, so that's a +5 a month at average) GB 4g+ data + most apps like Spotify, youtube, Instagram don't use data.

Third world country here, and I'm still using 4G as it's the only thing we have.

Our minister of telecommunications and technology has just been arrested for $500 million in corruption, so we won't expect any telecommunications advancement from 4G to 5G for the next couple of years.

Maybe our country have to wait until 5G is in the near-end life cycle internationally, and then we'll adopt 5G for cheaper, maybe.

Or maybe even worse, we'll stay with 4G in the next decade and just skip forward to 6G because we're too poor to adopt outdated 5G during it's prime time.

Or maybe adopt the obsolete 5G couple decade later during the 7G era as we're suffering from major recession and economy disaster stuff. Who knows.
