I've been reading fanfictions so much for the past two years and now it feels weird to read original stories again.

I'm still actively following three of them, but I can't seem to find anything new interesting. How do I deal with this situation?
Well, it's simple—just read mine Best novel

One of my intentions was absolutely for recommendations heh. Story is interesting so I'll read it (tmr because it's now 2330 over here).
Well if your goals is recommendations.
I'll jump ship and try a bit of self promotion as well XD (I hope you don't take offense.)

If you are interested in Fantasy/Mystery stories with a bit of Xianxia/Wuxia vibes that is :)

I'll join the self promo family and say "feel free to see if my original series will interest you". Maybe there are some original stories inspired by some of your favourite series? Querying and publishing authors have to be able to name comparable stories. I wonder if us self-publishers and series writers could do with doing the same? It might help readers find what they're looking for.

Well, since we're all promoting ourselves, I'll throw my hat in the ring as well. Feel free to check out my story in my bio ...if you don't mind smut with your plot. :blob_uwu:

That aside, what feels weird about reading original fiction again? Do you know?

Pretty sure it's that when reading a fan-fiction, the world is already established so you don't need to focus on understanding what the world's like and just the story. But when reading something original, you'd have to imagine up the world that the author is trying to convey from the beginning.

Good point. A good story will make that pretty easy on you though, unless the world is something truly unique. I generally view that as a plus, actually, because if the author's using their own world they have more room to craft a really good story, though that could go the other way as well.

I read both fanfiction and original fiction fairly regularly, and I couldn't say one is inherently better than the other, though having a world already fleshed out does make it easier for the author. The good ones avoid using it as a crutch, and the 'bad' ones would generally have a mess of a story with or without the help of an established world.

Procreate, and then you'll find parenting books interesting.
But I am underage, how can I-

Wait no, the better question is how can I avoid being a parent?
