The absolute amount of reincarnation stories is insane.
Reincarnated as an [x], reincarnated in [x],Reborn witha system! Reborn as an OP goddess of cultivation! Reborn as a loli! reborn as a futa with a harem of pretty girls! Reborn AS THE NEW LEADER OF THE THIRD REICH?!
It's all so boring.
I get it i am kinda being a dickhead for being the fun police but dear mother of God i feel the need to rewrite my entire idea now that i see the amount of the same shit over and over and over
No, I totally get it.
Occasionally, I like Isekai, but I think in the middle of watching
Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai de 8-manmai no Kinka wo Tamemasu, I realized why I hat the genre so badly. Let's back up. The protagonist in this has only three cheats, most of which are reasonable:
1. Healing/Regeneration
2. Language
3. Dimension Shift.
Only the last is really broken, so it isn't even the cheats. It's the fact that, "I'm going to go to my world, which has alot of issues, and raid it for items that I can sell for gold, then I'm gonna get rich in both worlds."
We see this play out in reality with misguided people running illegal immigration stuff. But if the people imported can't understand the culture enough, they wind up as dependents. This is turn means you are not importing assets, you are importing problems. Plagues, race wars, people who don't know how to use stoves and instead gather wood for a fire (burning down the apartment), to say nothing of drug trade, and sex trafficking.
This dawned on me when I saw her complaining the about the bathrooms. Suppose she gave them toilets. Solves the problem, right? Wrong. Most toilets do not operate without electricity. So you are importing a system that has rules people are used to with one that has rules that make them dependent on more systems you come up with (electricity, a piping system, a waste disposal system, a clean water intake system). A lighter? Seems simple, right? Well, the flint system we see them use is just percussion of rocks and such. Easy. Lighters require metallurgy, oil production, etc. These technologies don't improve life, they make your inability to cope with their world into importing your world's problems. Modern Japan is busy and stressed! Why in the hell should you take an idyllic farm country, and basically behave like some awful land developer, ruining their happiness in the process? By the way, these modern tech systems typically involve lifelong work, and you never get to enjoy it.
Now, there are isekai I like:
- Hack Sign
- SAO
- Magic Knight Rayearth
- Inuyasha
- Ascendance of a Bookworm
All of them have in common that they have no "cheats", no Truck-kun, and have a full-fleshed system. Only the last one mentions trying to upgrade the world, and only because the Main (literally, her name is Main, pronounced Myne) wants to read books. Implications of trying to do that, however, are explored, with mention that inventing a printing press requires a great deal of care to avoid accidentally starting a war, as hand-copiers get put out of business. The second to the last, she does bring tech from the future with her, but you know? It's only for personal use. She doesn't share alot of industrial secrets with the feudal era. The feudal era gets to remain feudal, and only Inuyasha and company benefit.
