Is Your MC your favorite character?

So as a kid I remember hearing about how many authors tend to have a character who is their favorite in their novels. Typically that character isn't the MC. I thought I might ask here and see if that is also the case. In your novel who would you say your favorite character is, and why?

Currently writing a story with a character called Milly (want to finish it more before I start uploading), she is really fun. Not sure what character is my favourite but for the moment maybe she is it. I guess some of the content of the story has affected my mood because I have had some very harsh things happen to her because I don't hold back if the story demands it but I am also trying to be a bit nicer to her too...

Favorite character overall, or favorite character to write? I've found my favorite character to write is one minor antagonist - my story is both a slice-of-life school story and a bigger fantasy epic in the background. The social antagonist is so fun to write because the stakes are so low - I can make him be as big an a**hole as I want because in the end he's just some kid power-tripping, and I don't have to worry that him making MC and friends miserable will have a real impact on the bigger story arcs whereas if I intended to make him the big bad then he'd be way too over the top.

I love my characters, too. But I can't really say that MCs would be my favorite. :)
I usually prefer side characters. :)
Right now my favorite character is Hellcage. A mysterious gentleman with unexplainable strength and an almost fanatical worship of the MC (not in a romantic sense).
I'm just into the mysterious type. XD

My favorite character in my own writings is my Key to the Void MC's twin sister. I have reincarnated twins in my series, and the twin sister has a much more interesting history in her past life.

It is hard for me to have a single favourite across everything I've wrote. So story by story.

In some none published stories I made even before I started posting online, my favourite characters were a side character. Mostly due to a combination of it been fun to write them and that I enjoyed their personality.

In my currently ongoing to stories, for both them my favourite character is their mc.

Yes, all of my characters are my babies~. Though, by deleting most of my stories off SH I have essentially hidden my babies in the basement.

In my published work, I actually wouldn't say my main character is my favorite character. I love her, she's great and important to the story, but some of my other characters I enjoy more because of their personalities and their dynamics they have in the story.
