Is there an audience for Dark novels on Scribble Hub?

I'm talking about Dark High Fantasy novels. With around 4000 words per chapter. I'm thinking of committing to this site or should I not bother?

I think there is, but I've personally been avoiding dark stuff recently for health reasons. I'd also try royalroad maybe, that's where I've read some of my darkest novels like what Thundamoo writes (really good stuff btw check it out maybe), but beware, the audience there has a rep for being more critical and mean. Obviously that's not everyone, but something to be prepared for. The progression fantasy genre is pretty dominant there and other stuff can struggle though so idk if it's your best bet.

I'd prefer larger chapters, but as an author it's shooting yourself in the foot with the algo.

You are one of the rare readers who can take on large chapters. For the rest of SH readers, 3k word chapters is already a stretch.

It will. Best you can do is to organize your writing and reading habits.

Just try not to overwhelm the reader, 4000 words is not easy if the content is heavily dark

There exists an audience for dark stories in Scribblehub. Whether its an evil MC to the point of raping someone to death in "I Just Wanted to Play Gacha Games For the Rest of My Life, But I Reincarnated as an Evil Pair of Tights!", or a sympathetic MC who is abused, tortured, humilliated, and gaslit until all hope is extinguished in "Delirious Degeneracy: Tales of the free", some very dark stories have found reader engagement here. On the more mainstream side of dark, some stories about resilliant and heroic MCs that constantly face a lot of death and violence have made trending regularly, such as "Sovereign of Wrath". I emphatically do NOT recommend the first two to anyone sane, but cautiously reading the first couple chapters of them may give you an idea of how your work might be received here.
