Is there a way to tell what is indie writer work here and what is translation?

Been listening to the PocketFM translation of "My Vampire System" and it is fairly common for a character to be referred to by the wrong pronoun (USUALLY female characters called by male pronouns but, in the first 600 chapters, there are at least three instances of the reverse as well). Also has a weird tendency to handle names differently - Fex is sometimes Vex or FEX and, until a second character named Borden shows up, the character Vorden was called Borden a few times (granted for about three chapters he was using that as a fake name, but it happened a lot earlier too... but seemed to vanish when there were two different characters).

Yeah AI tends to think a certain name is like three different people, but when there's multiple people it realizes that its actually one person, and properly does its name somewhat consistently. and wrong pronouns is uh, not something a author would do. AI would 100% do it though

LLMs will almost always get pronouns wrong, especially in translations, because it lacks any real way to link the two subjects together. It just picks one and moves along.

Another issue that MTL has with pronouns, especially when going into visual/audio media, is that the written pronoun in Chinese is gendered, but when spoken it lacks any differentiation.

Though, saying it is gendered when written isn't quite right, either. But it is more complicated than I care to explain here, right now.

Therefore, it has no choice but to guess.

Should I feel bad reporting translations? There's several I've come across and should report, but they have a lot of readers and such.

They're just blatantly marked as translations, too. I feel bad about it. T.T

Well, I just reported three.

They make it easy to know it is a translation when they say it in the synopsis and point out it isn't their story but one someone else wrote.

and sometimes, they just straight up don't know. Many don't actually read the guidelines, after all. If they knew, they would 100% self report to get their translations hidden then linked with NU (atleast, the honest ones)

They are visible before you post new story. You need to acknowledge reading them.
