Most anime are set in asian background, and asian are relatively shorter than western people.

You see, humans see things in relative. If you're 154 cm and see a 152 cm person, you gonna say a short person. I can't stress this enough as a someone with whose height is only 163 cm, SEA people are fucking shorts, so its common (unfortunately) for a non-asian people to see asian people as child-like.

While I do think that some people definitely go too far, there are so many incidents where they are literally a minor hypersexualized for the fans. Or they are given juvenile features beyond height, but given excuses, so they can excuse their sexualization of what is a child. Just because ecchis exist doesn't mean there aren't lines they shouldn't cross. It's not discrimination and more you are unfortunate souls caught in the crossfire between a serious problem of lolicons and their (rightful) critics.
But there are people who explain it far better than the me typing away at my keyboard because they actually took the time to create a cohesive argument to point out all the points that I want to but I literally just woke up like... 10 minutes ago.
