I'm searching for a collaboration

I'm not an expert author by any means, in fact, I'm still a novice at best. However, after coming across a post here, I've developed an interest in collaborating with another writer to enhance storytelling.

So, if you are writing professionally, I understand if you might not be interested in partnering with me. But I'm not seeking a co-author position, so all rights to the story would still remain yours.

All I ask is to be given credit where credit is due… but honestly, I’m pretty flexible, what matters most is being given a chance to demonstrate how my skills could potentially benefit your story. The rest can be discussed.

Naturally I need to talk about my strength and weakness.

My strength lies in character potrayal, I have a natural inclination towards creating complex characters that are, at the very least, interesting enough through subtle gestures or deliberate inner monologue.

However, character development is a different matter. Though I would love to claim it as my strength, I cannot do so due to my weakness.

My major weakness is my constant writer's block, which can occur even in the simplest parts of the story. For example, my current writer's block is transitioning from a conversation to walking, while the previous one was when my MC is looking at another person…. Yes, it's that simple, and no, it's not because I've dried out my creativity.

Because of this weakness, even when having the general plotline of the story planned out for three or more volumes ahead, going beyond 10 chapters is extremely challenging for me. So, to claim that I am good at character development would be without any proof, since I've never written far enough for character development to happen.

Here are my recent works.
Title: The Fateful Day (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gSI00ozg1ppCDyZ5z11BjYpjW7WhzE3F?usp=sharing)

&

Title: But Wife, I Really Am a Villain (Webnovel)

The first one can be found on this website, but only has seven chapters. The rest are inside the drive, and I assure you they are readable. The second one is more of an experiment where the writing quality is intentionally reduced, and the plot is not given much thought.

I understand that my weaknesses and even my recent works might not be enough to convince you. But again, I hope you can give me a trial period to see whether we are compatible or not.

PS: Because of my weakness, although I could assist with writing here and there, the bulk of the writing responsibility will still fall on you. Just treat me as a second brain to brainstorm ideas and provide another perspective… again, I'm not looking to take over the writing process but rather to collaborate in a way that complements your skills and fills in any gaps where needed.

You’re treating this like a job interview. Isn’t it better to just freely write whether good or bad? I don’t see what you gain from this collaboration whatsoever, besides becoming a convenient person for someone to take advantage of.

If you want just talking about writing, tropes, etc then just send a friend request on my discord and we can chat whenever. But collaboration is something you do when both parties have a clearly attainable and non-abstract benefit.

Nicely put, you can easily do collaboration here by asking anyone you find interesting.

I guess my post does sound like a job interview. XD
However, it's true that I love storytelling.
Not writing.
It's storytelling.

For me, it's all about the joy of storytelling and the reader's hype for the next chaps. That's why I'm not aiming for a co-author position, if things stop being fun or beneficial to me, I won't hesitate to step back from the collaboration.

My main issue is that I struggle to write a story past 10 chapters. So, my goal here is to see if collaborating with someone else that handles the burden of the writing will help overcome my weakness.

If it indeed work and allows me to comfortably tell a story and, god forbid, actually finish one damn volume, then that's a win for me. I might then consider other collaborations where I take on a co-author role, or maybe even find a ghostwriter to do the writing for me.

And I'm quite picky as well. If I don't see potential in the story, I'll not hesitate to reject the collaboration since one of the reason I have this weakness is from my obsession with perfection.

Overall, I do benefit from this. Think of it like I'm offering myself as an intern, looking for experience. I don't mind being taken advantage of, as long as it doesn't interfere with my goal. And if I feel I've contributed enough, I'll definitely ask for a compensation, like a shoutout at the bottom of chapter / synopsis / description.

My way to circumvent the issue is by loving my own direction and characters. The moment you get bored of ‘their story’ is when a person loses interest in the work itself. This sense of distance you make from your own work is the problem.

People tend to do different things to make their future goal clearer. It’s why I never lose interest in the work I’m doing, but CAN lose interest in the characters if they can’t express what I want. I feel like the character is controlling me at that point. Making me write a story based on their in-personality actions rather than having growth.

Anyway, I’m free anytime for a collab but it’ll have to be on discord. We can discuss how the story will look and both have a look at the chapters before publishing. I can edit the work.

Of course, that’s if you find it worthwhile. I’ll even provide some AI art so we can have a better idea of what the characters will be like.

My bad, that was my poor wording. When I say 'not fun', I meant the collaboration being bad. Naturally, if I pick a story, then I won't abandon it. At least not for a 1-2 volumes.

XD I also have some experience with A.I arts... I did it on pixai since it's free. Name is also same, TheUnsuspicious.
