Hello there! I decided to try the site today :D I'm originally from Tapas but after researching where else would it be good, I chose to give this site a try C:

I'm wondering if you guys have any tips for a newbie. Maybe what to expect from the community and well, anything you'd like to share would be good!

Don't post updates too many times in a day or the site will detect it as spam and hide your story. Three chapter is the limit.
Thankss, that's actually a helpful tip! I read that in RR people update like crazy in one day. Thing I don't understand but its cool to know that's not accepted here.

It is quite laid back here. So it is nice environment to create and write. the authors around are indeed little weird but in a good way , and the audience is very tolerant so Welcome and have fun
You can ask some help with the grammar from Sensei and the Proffesor
They shared some very useful writing tips to me at this forum thread:

Also, you need to give my story a one-star rating if you want to get on trending ?

if writing, recommend at least four passes, minimum two.

one is you writing your chapter.

two is you revising the chapter.

three is running it through Grammarly if you trust it. a lot of its ideas are paid, but you will see some improvement out the gate on free.

four is sanity check.

after that, go ahead and publish, or move on.

Also, there are some really good writing guides by @OokamiKasumi. I would highly recommend them, I've been reading new ones and rereading ones I've read before to help me with my own writing.
