before i added the tags it barely had any views at all.

For online writing like web novels, you just need eyeballs on your work. Post it to a few different sites, spread the word on social media and with friends you game with or things like that. After you have eyeballs on it, then you just need to get lucky and write the thing lots of people want to read.

For traditional publishing, you just need to get an agent who can get you a decent publisher that is willing to take a gamble on your work and push your name out there. Then you need to get lucky and write something people want to read. Maybe have a book list pick up your work. That path has been growing darker as of late. Publishers are dying out with the bookstores.
