If you could play a game for the first time again what would you choose?

I have a few but these would be my top:

Mass Effect Series
Dragon Age 1 to 3
Chrono Trigger
Hakuoki
Our Life: Beginnings & Always
FF6
Enderal
Pokemon Snap (N64 version)
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature

Honorable mentions for Vanilla WoW and Pokémon Go because I'd only want to play those if it came with the same environment that was around when those first came out.

Nier: Automata, probably.

I already replay most of my favourite games, and the fact I know what happens in them doesn't hinder my enjoyment. FF6, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Force, Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden 2...

But to play Nier: Automata, for the first time again?

Yeah. That would be ballin'.

Project wingman.

I don’t play many story driven games. Most games I play I play to collect things and level up abilities, so to wipe all that progress would just be annoying. I used to play more story driven games in the past, and while they were good at the time, I doubt Skyrim would hit the same if I played it for the first time in 2025.

Fallout 3 for Xbox 360, Europa Universalis 4 for PC, Seven Samurai 20XX for PS2, and Radiata Stories for PS2.
Mercenaries 1 & 2 for PS2. Nier Automata for PS4.
I've never played any of the Drakengard games, and they are hard as hell to find, with only Drakengard 3 being somewhat easily obtained. I'd love to play them since they are part of the same franchise as Nier and one of them leads into the first Nier....which I haven't played either.

If I had my wish and could get any game or two games remade or at the very least remastered for PS4/PS5, I'd want Seven Samurai 20XX or Radiata Stories to be the ones chosen. However, considering how niche Seven Samurai 20XX was even in it's own time, I doubt it would ever make the cut. Radiata Stories has a better chance, but I highly doubt anyone even remembers the game. Hell, most people who grew up around the time of PS2 don't even remember it. It was quite a hit at the time though, even had a short little manga for it, which I discovered years later after the fact.

Absolutely one of my favourite games ever, it's so bonkers but dripping with so much style

for the very first time? Genshin Impact ?

serious answer: a Korean side scrolling MMO titled Grand Chase. Started playing it from 2012 and ended up stopped playing on 2015 due to college stuff

For me its a split between three games

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War

Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies

The games maybe very dated but damn, I loved the story to bits. Starting as newbie pilot that nobody knows into a icon of death and destruction. You really feel a sense of pride wether your tac name gets mentioned (Mobius1, Cipher, and Blaze) by your squadron mates, and an overwhelming sense of acknowledgement when enemies start referring to you with a nickname in admiration and fear. (Demon Lord of The Roundtable, and Ghost of Razgriz, The Ribbon Fighter). The sountrack is amazing too Zero, Agnus Dei - Megalith and Unsung war are three of my favorite gaming soundtracks that i still love to listen too to this day. I recommend Zero if you like the spanish guitar with flamenco, Agnus Dei - Megalith if you like the bible since that piece literally reminds me of it, and Unsung War if you're into goosebump inducing church choir with a sense of hope and determination.

Special Mention to Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
The characters may be meh compared to the golden trio but gowd damn. Take that feeling of pride when your tac name or nickname gets mentioned and crack it up to 11. The overwhelming sense of pride and joy when I hear allies mention your tac name (Trigger) and when the enemy shouts your name in fear and admiration (The Three Strikes) has me smiling while playing throughout the campaign. Plus it has tons of callbacks to the golden three, especially AC4.
