*curtain lifts*
*reveals two men, L and Light Yagami, the latter of who is a serial killer with alias Kira. L is a detective who has been chasing Kira for many days*

L: Oh, Light, why does this 25th day of the month June 2017 has to be so hot, I wished it was spring again. Oh, I am reminded of my childhood, Light, back in the days of when I could return from school, all drenched in sweat, and lay down on bed while watching my favourite cartoon, The Lion King on the tele.

Light: Well, that's fantastic and all that you would say that, Mr. L, however, I doubt you called me to this room to discuss about the weather.

L: I did not in fact, call you here to discuss about weather. However, do not have the notion that I won't do such a thing in future, for you, Light, I consider you a friend. And what are friends if not chaps you can waste time with?

Light: I am highly honoured to hear that, but do tell me, what is the real reason for me to be here? Have we gotten any leads on the serial killer, Kira, who has killed 40 people till now?

L: Why yes, I do have a lead on him. But I wonder how did you guess that was the reason of my call?

Light: Well, it's quite obvious. I believe any sane man would come to the conclusion that if a detective in charge of Kira summons you, it must be to talk about Kira.

L: You are absolutely right, any normal person woukd think that. However, Light, I don't consider you normal. For some reason, my guts tell me you are Kira. And the fact that you acted just like a normal person would, increases your chances of being Kira by 50%.

Light: You make well jokes, L. I am afraid I might need to see some proof before I entertain them. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to spare, so I would like if we move on.

*L nods*
L: The last murder victim was one Mr. John Colorado, and I suspect this man wasn't a planned murder. I believe Kira just happened to stumble upon him, and soon learnt about his criminal past as a molester, and decided to give his judgement then and there. Since I predicted this would happen, we managed to install a hearing device on his person beforehand, so now we have an audio footage of Kira.

Light: L, why wasn't I told of this! I thought we were a team!

L: Oh, you didn't knew? Must had slipped my mind. Sorry.

*lights go out*
*one beam of light centres on Light as he starts his monologue*

Light: I see, so I fell for his plan, huh. It was already planned that I would meet that man in that narrow alleyway, where the brown stain on his shoes would help me easily figure out he was a molester. L knew I would murder him then and there. And now, he has it on tape.

*Light begans laughing maniacally*
Light: But you see, I was one step ahead of you! Your plan fails here L! You will never know I am Kira!

*lights come back on and time continues normally*
Light: Please don't forget such important details. Now, what clues do we gather from the audio tape? Can I listen to it?

*L takes out an audio player from his pocket and tosses it to Light. Light plays the recording, but it has nothing but static, followed by a loud thump, presumably from the fall of victim*

Light: I see, so it's useless. This Kira fellow, he is always one step ahead of us.

L: It's not completely useless Light. The fact that you didn't see that raises the chances of you being Kira by 50%.

Light: What do you mean?

L: Listen carefully, and you will hear it.

*Light brings the player close to his ear and plays it again. The static, followed by a loud thump is heard again, but this time, Light is visibly startled and perplexed*

L: Do you hear it?

Light: It-its...breathing. There is sound of them breathing.

L: Exactly! The fact that you noticed it increases the chances of you being Kira by 50%. There are two breathing patterns, one person is breathing at a rate of 52 times a minute, that is our victim who was breathing so fast because he was suffering from heart conditions.

Light: And the other, is a person breathing at a rate of 38 times a minute. That's Kira!

L: Yes. Say, Light, I have been noticing you for a while. Haven't you been breathing at a rate of 38 times a minute?

*lights go out again and a beam is focused on Light. He starts his monologue*

Light: He got me! I didn't account for that! Hopefully, I can still bluff my way out of here.

*lights turn on and time resumes as normal*

Light: Yes, quite an observation. But surely, you can't be suspecting me, many people have a breathing rate of 38 times per minute. Why, the local inspector Richard Hammers has a breathing rate like that.

L: Yes, Light, you are absolutely right. However, Kira had this breathing rate while he was murdering someone. Anyone would have an accelerated breathing rate when they watch a murder, much less commit one. For Kira to maintain this low breathing rate while committing murder, he has to be someone who has an excellent control over his body. Someone like an athlete. An athlete like, the 2015 world tennis champion, Light Yagami.

*lights go out and a beam focuses on Light as he starts his monologue*
Light: Tch! He got me!

*lights switch back on and time flows as normal*

Light: Well, I could say the same for you, Sir, 2012 World tennis champion. In fact, any athlete could had done this crime. He perhaps isn't even an athlete, perhaps he just got used to killing people, so he no longer gets excited.

L: True, but the fact that you say that raises the chances of you being Kira by 50%. We already know Kira is a vigilante, hence he does not kill for sports. It would make sense for him to not get excited. But still, I really think you are Kira, so that raises the chances of you being Kira by 50%. Say Light, do you suspect me for being Kira?

Light: Of course yes, we can't trust anyone.

L: That raises the chances of you being Kira by 50%. By the way, I too suspect you for being Kira.

This would work well but the entire thing needs to be narrated by Ls Butler Watari who's narration is incredibly sassy. That and he should be constantly hoping that Light isn't Kira so that L can have a friend for once.

This part is too cute, do you think Alfred, Batman's butler would think the same?
Yes, but Alfred doesn't have to hope for Bruce to obtain friends since he keeps adopting orphans and is pretty chummy with the police chief. Alfred is canonically sassy as all hell already.

Always found Death Note to be a bit of a tragedy. I agreed with Light killing the scum of the earth. I saw nothing wrong with it. People always make that nonsensical argument of "who are you to do this or that", while I'm just thinking...what gives the judge the right to do this and that? It's a flimsy piece of parchment that supposedly proclaims he is an expert. It's just a very weak claim to legitimacy to me.

The problem was, Light developed a God Complex, (which was inevitable of course, I know that), and he began killing off even those who slightly annoyed him. The one big plot hole in the story though was, even if L had someone gotten his hands onto the Death Note, and found the names of all of the people written down, and then connected them to everyone that had died mysteriously, there is no court of law that would have realistically accepted it as evidence of guilt on Light's part, that he somehow caused the deaths. I mean, the whole premise of L's investigation was just...stupid. Any rational court would have laughed L's testimony off and apologized to Light for him even having to be there to listen to L's accusations.

There was nothing that tied Light to any of the dead, and even the handful that died when he was nearby, or some small connection could have been made, there was still nothing incriminating him that would have stuck. Fingerprints? Nope. Tapped phone calls? Nope. Blood, saliva, urine, semen, or just ANY kind of stains? Nope. Nothing. I mean, hair samples...something....anything......anything at all? Nope. Still, the show convinced you that Light was actually in danger of being caught. My favorite was when L noticed that the killings stopped once he started keeping a close eye on Light. I mean, even if that was true, which it was, L could have watched Light writing in the Death Note, and then observed the death happening as it was written, and that still wouldn't have meant anything in the court trial. Imagine telling the judge that the defendant has a magic notepad that kills when things are written into it.

I mean really. Yes, I know I know, I'm reading too much into it. It's an anime after all.

Beneath Alfred's leather butler boots are the most glamorous, bimbo-iest, rainbow glitter pedicure you've ever seen

I don't doubt that with a lot of the stuff going on in the new comics
I hate how Batman is now practically a physical god despite his character originally being a martial artist with deep pockets and now he's going toe-to-toe with Darkseid by fists alone.

Frank Miller's TDKR is supposed to be an interesting one-off character study but everyone wants to be Frank Miller so bad, that version of Batman is now considered a staple.
