Darkseid represents the worst of human nature - he is a God of evil and treachery. Halloween is more about Death, really - at least the Irish roots line in the Samhain Fesc, or Feast of Samhain, the night the Lord of the Dead descends to Earth to find those dead spirits that have not moved on to Otherworld and drag them over.

Darkseid is more an embodiment of horror than of death - he pits his own children against each other for entertainment, has a woman who kidnaps (female) children to turn them into warriors, and constantly seeks to unlock the Anti-Life Equation so that he can remake all of reality in the image of his world, Apokalips. He would be a good monster for Halloween (might even be a cool costume, though people might think you were disguised as Thanos).

Darkseid eh? Whenever I think of Halloween I always think of the Joker but Darkseid works really well too!
