I use uBlock origins. free and I haven't had any ads. better than paying them to not run ads. It's google. they make enough from selling my info, I don't need to effectively sell them additional time as well.

I use ublock and noscript. On the phone I just use the kiwi/youtube script to allow pseudo premium.

You could've just VPNed to a country like argentina and paid pennies instead. Sure they might've put policies to make it harder so you have to go through extra hoops to pay from an argentina bank or look for a different country to vpn but still doable. If you just don't want ads then you can use the multiple adblock extensions instead of paying.

Was 11 dollars, then found it was thirteen then let it go. Now 18? Hell no.
If people just boycotted subscription services (all of them) for a short while (all at once), they wouldn't be so blatantly anti-consumer. I applaud your contribution by leaving one of them.

At first it was an ad thing, but now people pay for YouTube premium because they have certain content only available for premium accounts. I don't use it, but I understand why others are tempted by it.

What does noscript do, wise tech man?
It blocks websites to not be overly intrusive. Also blocks suspicious domains automatically. It's great as you can completely block dedicated ad systems. For youtube specifically, you can click "untrusted" on doubleclick.net and block popups permanently.

For an average user it might be a bit annoying. Since using it will make some websites unusable until you figure out what to allow and what not to allow to run. And most sites need the main website and the accompanying "static" or "cdn" to run the basics. And you do need to micromanage it for everywhere you go.

6€ where I live. Lol. Best subscription I am paying for and YT music is better than spotify.

Regional pricing ftw.

The problem is Google is moving towards blocking the ability to go no script on ads with their videos if you use anything that's even remotely chromium based. There's not gonna be an ad blocking option when it comes to YouTube eventually.
