I think I just got rating bombed...

I worried over it a lot too when I got bombed with 5 one stars in a short period of time, but since they were still there after my report, I can only shrug at my current 12 one stars and keep working on. The more of them you get, the less you feel like fighting them. Almost all are given by people who don't even bookmark the story or completely disable their profiles, ninja rating stories that get into trending.

I forget to check if there's any new 1 stars. When want to avoid things, their existence is basically deleted.

But yeah 1* rating sucks. It felt like you didn't do your assignment in writing your story.

Though I wish I could believe mine to be just a troll 1*, I think it's not. Oh well, it's a part of an author's life, I guess.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I have a few other 1-star reviews too, although those I'm pretty sure are legit, as much as I wish they weren't... :blob_sweat:

That's fair. Sorry to hear about your case though, and from one author to another, I wish you the best of luck in the future! :blob_salute:

Damn, this is insanely good! Also props to you for doing it on traditional media! I do some art too, but I'm so used to working on digital that I don't think I could ever draw anything remotely decent without the undo button...

Thanks! Well, my weakness is, I'm not used to drawing in digital (but I do colors on pc). ?

And yeah, I did check out your artworks in your novel, and I wish I could do colors like that. ??

Someday, I will return to this thread and we can all sit here sipping our tea, lamenting how goddamn popular we are, and the hundreds of 1* reviews.
Haha, that's the dream! :blob_highfive:

Either that or with the hundreds of 1* reviews we'll be popular in a different way. More along the lines of infamous. :blob_happy:

Yeah, 100 1* reviews and 110 reviews in total

@K5Rakitan It looks like you'll be having some competition soon in having the most 1 stars.

In this tea sipping future, she will have the most 5* reviews.

Thanks! The colors I do for everything are just straight cel-shading though, so the shadows are just the same as the base color, but slightly darker and more saturated. I think the only exception on my characters is the eyes, which is usually a bunch of layered fades and some highlights on top. Cel-shading's not too hard to do at all, and it does give a great clean look if you're going for that! :blob_paint:

If you're interested in learning, here's the tutorial that I started with for cel-shading:

Although personally, I do shading color by color instead of having a mask for it all like the tutorial, but using a mask is way faster. I'm just stubborn and do things the hard and painful way.

Thanks, once I get off my butt and finally start practising my art skills(?) I'll check it out

Repeating myself, but I wish you the best of luck!

Ooooh...

Thanks for the tutorial! Will watch that once I finished shading my maids.

I've tried it before, but for some reason, it kept on going painter-ly style to the point I accepted it as my style.

Will definitely check on this one. ??

Same! Best of luck to you too! :blob_salute: And as much as I wish it wasn't true, practice is super important for art! So keep practicing and I'm sure you'll be cruising along with your artistic ventures as well!

Well, it's hard to do sudden shifts in style, so I'm with you there! Every time I try to do something more painterly with blending, it ends up being a mess or I try too hard to fix the blending and it ends up looking like half-finished cel-shading in the end. Best of luck with your artistic ventures as well though! :blob_salute:

Yeah, I agree with you on shifting styles. Mine's the opposite. Everytime I shift to celshade, I inadvertently go back to painterly.

But in any case, nice getting to know you! Now I'm interested to check your novel. I've only seen the illusts so far.
