i hope this is sarcasm
No. The vaccine didn't stop people from getting covid again. The vaccine isn't legally a vaccine, it also didn't go through the proper trials, and it does not do what a vaccine is supposed to. So, what sarcasm? Live in Memphis, many of my friends and neighbors got the vaccine, and still developed covid again. My cousins got the boosters, still got covid again.

I was stuck in a small house in the woods for two years on end during the lockdown, I only managed to barely interact with three people during the said lockdown, because they were immediate family. School was canceled, multiple business owners seemingly went missing as their shops became permanently closed down, cars were virtually non-existent, the death tolls on the television climbed higher and higher, weather forecasts displaying even the largest of cities would show barren streets, and even the big retail stores were completely silent, sparsely populated by the cashiers who didn't even say a word and wouldn't even look you in the eye as they scanned your groceries.

Unfortunately, I only went on one of these big groceries runs twice, as I didn't have my own car and it would be over 30 miles for me to walk or bike to town. For the most part, I was stuck inside a house, or I was doing something to keep myself busy. Walking, reading, writing, and drawing to escape from this ghost world. The only sounds that managed to meet my ears were music through my headphones, my own voice, the constant reran movies on my DVD player and the sounds of the forest around me. Those too were an escape from the mundane horror of the bigger picture, and to those that might ask, "Why didn't you just go online, watch Netflix, or something?" I had no internet or any other type of streaming service.

When the world opened back up, I had finally got to see everything and everyone again and the world actually felt sane once more. The idea that you'd want that hell on Earth back is beyond my comprehension.

I'm so sorry for bringing up the nightmare.

Yeah, when I typed this thread out, I knew this would get reactions like yours. It is just that my experience was very different from yours and I did find the two years to be peaceful (until it didn't after like three months, but it is still quietly good for me) . Then the recent rollback happened and when the backlogs start rolling on my toes these past few months, I decided to post this whine.

So once again, apologies on that.

No, because that would be infringing upon my rights. Just because you believed things were as bad as the shiny tube said, doesn't mean others were as easily manipulated and fooled. And lol, that vaccine, isn't even a vaccine, since it even declares itself that it won't necessarily stop you from getting COVID. And people who got the vaccine, still developed COVID again....so um...what vaccine?
I don't think many other vaccines say it will prevent you from getting whatever it is a 100% either...it's a prevention not an effective block.

Like got covid couple months ago. Thankfully had booster so not severe. Ik someone who got it months prior and didn't bother to get vaccine before. They landed in the hospital.

Loved the commute time disappeared, remote and recorded learning vids that can make the prof sound like a chipmunk or rewind if they talked like one. Did not like the hate, the anger that came with pandemic and the fear of potentially being targeted by look, the job opportunities for young graduates at the start of pandemic plummeted and many others lost jobs and businesses, the chance to go out and do something while young -that's two years out missing when was planning do more fun. Families/friends couldn't visit as often or if they did (some didn't think it was serious), if one or a few got covid then now it spreads quick, including to some of the more vulnerable people. Mental health for lot issues in society -has been here before, but with pandemic more people experience it. And not like can easily go to hospital for cases you normally would cause they are on overload and overcrowded for covid.

Can understand why lockdown happened, but no, do not miss it. Aside from no commute time - that I'll never miss.

Being stuck in a cabin in the woods for two years (forever) with no-one allowed or able to visit sounds like my idea of heaven, but then I'm an extreme introvert who hates being out. The only thing that would make it better would be going out and finding it's the z-apocalypse, but that amazon still deliver books.

You voted Biden didn't you?
I'm not talking about the shiny tube. My immediate family has been isolated and hasn't caught it, but four of my friends have lost loved ones. A few days ago, I found out that my cousin's baby, who is younger than my son, caught it and had to be hospitalized because he was having difficulty breathing. He's doing better now, thankfully. Thankfully, there's also enough room for him in the hospital at the present time. When the hospitals are overloaded, it's everyone's problem. If you have a heart attack or a car crash while the hospitals are overloaded, you're up shit creek. It's about taking care of others.

You know why seatbelts are mandated?

My position against the rich is not that they are too rich and that bad. But rather they have orchestrated way too much bad shit. Deindustrialization of the west, ridding of culture, soy-society, coomerism, propaganda and a lot more

China.

The Indians are just gonna flood in like a massive tsunami of curry smell
First part is more of a progressive stance then a "rich" stance. Everything you have an issue with in the sentence was a liberal progressive globalization stance. The rich just took advantage of it, it is how the rich become rich.

China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Mexico and so on and so on. The industries all keep moving to cheaper countries every time a trade agreement was signed that allowed for them to be moved there. on top of that our environmental footprint from industry also moved to those countries. Which of course had worse environmental regulations then 1st world countries.
Note this does not just apply to the USA, but to most (if not all) 1st world countries.

1: I like Curry including the smell. 2: Everyone wants to better their life, so no blame there.

Cheaper due to the government supporting their industries, however not more efficient. 2. This is solely a bettering one’s life on a material basis is which completely unfounded to every level, since it erodes the soul.
3. Progress is the second greatest lie known to man. It’s a false illusion as man regardless of his time or technology is fundamentally human and flawed, fundamentally savage and barbaric. He has only changed his means and had never changed the essence and fiber of his being.

I read this thread as in "I missed the lockdowns" as in "I never noticed there were lockdowns until they were over" :ROFLMAO:

I literally had a buddy that only noticed the whole Covid catastrophe in late '21 and only because the anime con he always goes to was purely online. That was legit the only time he went into the crowds XDD

Life is 100% better in 2022 then it was in 1975. Progress is not only in technology, but in social reforms. Even Russia and 3rd world countries are "better". Is it "there" yet in all countries everywhere, no, but it is better, and 1975 was better than 1950 which was better than 1925.

I lived quit a few decades and what I remember what was going on when I was a kid and what is going on now. How life has changed and it has changed for the better, we have a long way to go before its good, and we will take steps back, but that is the way progress works. Socially as well as in technology.

There was no social progress only social regression. Technology was also a mistake

But is it better than it was in 1975? Or even 1985? Things happen in a cycle, up and down. But things still have improved over decades for most in the world.

I am simply going to disagree.
