And Anti-Cake Dungeon Delving and the Herbal Dungeon are the most read, which begs the question:
Why do people like harems so much?
And if they can binge read, why don't they give hearts as well?
Ain't no hearts, where I go...
No hearts, no sunshine...
Only chocolate and ice cream...
Oh, for the love of the lava cake, why can't I get more hearts?

Because why not. Because there is no reason. Because you don't beg for more hearts, and you finish your novels.
I was about to ask this question, so I may as well ask you. Can I, as an author, bribe my readers with more chapters in exchange for engagement (favorites)?

Oh, you sweet summer child, what do you know of bribes? Bribing is for the long summer, when you still get the exposure at the latest Updated Page. When you still update. But there are no eternal stories, and one day, you will end the story, and then you will see that you have no more chapters for the bribe. And then the white trolls will come into the night, months after you have updated the story to the end, and then they will give you a rating which is good in Germany, and horrible anywhere else. That is, if you are not @K5Rakitan. Enjoy bribing the lurkers while you still can. For the Winter of the words, The End, comes for us all.

I can live with that. Once the story is done, it's rewrite time, then selling it as an actual book, and that is something like 7 novels from now.
I think yes you can, and this is what I intend to do once I return to writing.
Here are the guidelins btw.
Very goooood. I'm planning on starting an engagement campaign (mostly because my RR following lags quite a bit behind my SH readership, and for a litRPG with no Smut, that's a problem). I had to read through all their rules on bribery to figure out what I could do, but I didn't want to leave my good SH readers out from an engagement campaign to earn more chapters.

Rewrite? Oh, you sweet summer child. If I rewrote my stories, I would still have only one to my name.

Yes, you can. I put hearts (it's about hearts that represent likes at the bottom of every chapter, as I guess) only to four novels. And three of them were, where esteemed authors asked for it. You may ask why. Two reasons: 1) my sloth was born before me, and 2) I never could comprehend, how can I like one chapter and dislike other one. It simply doesn't have any sense to me. I may like or dislike novel as a whole (but I need to read few chapters, to even decide, if I really like novel, or not, and to read decent part to decide, how much do I like it), but one chapter? I better will put five (or four) stars for the novel I like.

Harems? Why? It's easy.

Dudes like to eat donuts, but not just any donut- every donut.
To get those donuts, you have to go to a shop. But there are multiple shops and every shop has a different kind of donut.

Going to multiple different shops mean you can taste all of those different donuts.

So, Dudes like having multiple shops open to them so they can eat as many donuts as they like. If they get bored of one shop, there are other shops they can eat from.

But, that's the difference between Dudes and Men.

Dudes will forget about the donuts they don't like or get tired of. Some might pick two or three favorites and visit the others only on certain occasions. Some might try them all and then not eat any ever again. Some might just pick one and ditch the rest! Absolute buffoonery, that last one, if you ask me.

Men, on the other hand, never forget. Real men order from every shop equally to indulge in every available flavor. Because every donut is delicious in its own way.

Usually happens with really long novels\manga. Sometimes whole arcs can be underwhelming.
Up to date I've read only two "really long" novels (online). That is, above 500 chapters. "Azarinth Healer" and "Defiance of the Fall". First one of these I have temporarily put aside around chapter 600, because I felt tired of it. Second one I'm still reading. (Author is currently on vacation for a month, so, not actually). I can't say, that some parts were worse, than oter.

UPD: Uhm... I remembered, that "Profane Prince of Domination" was also nearly 600 chapters. ? Well, 18+ scenes became rather bland and self-repeating from some point, but story (adventures, worldbuilding, battles) never dropped in quality, rather, it became better closer to the end.
