The first draft is 100k word long, and I am very happy about that. I still have plenty of plans for the next book. For the longest time, the most I wrote, was 80k word long. My last book was a novella. But now, I finally have a decent sized book on my hands. Now, to put it through the second line of editing, and see what remains!

80k is a book. I often got yelled at by the client when I ghost wrote something that it was too big. 80k to 100k is about what most publishers wanted for a paperback to slap together.

Ugh. There's that word.

Editing.

I tend to write over the 50k word average for a novel (I find it an arbitrary number), with Oracle of Tao roughly 390k. Nevermind, I was having fun. Until it came time to edit. First obvious spelling, then typos, then I found unfinished paragraphs where the sentence dangled, and awkward sentence structure. Tried to ask for help, but it was difficult to get someone really passionate.
I never wanna edit again, if I can help it.
