Reminds me of a story Alice Cooper told on his old radio program - one year, The Who was touring in Detroit but there were no hotels with rooms available willing to rent rooms to them given their reputation for property damage, so he offered his place for them for the three days they were in town.
The day before they were due to arrive, Cooper was awakened by the sound of vacuuming outside ... going out to investigate, he found Keith Moon, the original drummer for the band, dusting and vacuuming his yard in a French Maid costume. In a (bad, fake) French accent, he claimed to be there to clean the place and get it ready for Mr. Cooper's distinguished guests... (In fact, Moon had accidentally booked an earlier flight and decided to check out the place beforehand - when his cab passed a costume shop, he asked the driver to turn around, let him out and wait for him. He bought the costume and props, put the costume on in the shop, and rode to Alice Cooper's place just to pull this gag,
