I'm late to the party, but here's my opinion.

Interest, expectation, and satisfaction from learning things are cognitive activities reliant on neurotransmitters such as dopamine (interest) and opioids (habit forming).

From there, I postulate that there's a limit to how much is available every day.

The corollary is that you should manage it carefully if you want to channel your mental energy towards specific goals.

Also, chasing blindly pleasure or satisfaction will only push you farther away from reaching it. Especially if you waste all your happy juice at once too easily.

If you can embrace negative emotions (such as boredom, loneliness, or discomfort), and avoid dopamine-releasing sidetracking activities (such as scrolling on youtube, gaming, or listening to music too much), your brain will be ready to welcome colorful days.

The realization that every second spent in silence, tranquility, and boredom will be rewarded with more focus and drive is a great cope that turns into reality for me.
