How would you survive in a generic Isekai against Protagonists?

Which Boon would you pick?

They said 'generic isekai', A generic isekai system usually consists of killing things to get stronger.

But even in the case of event-based rewards, it doesn't change the fact that you have to get involved in lots of sticky situations to get stronger. I dunno, peresonally it just sounds smarter to live away from all that. Depending on the cheat, you may even live better than you currently do in modern life.
Some of the events are "Start a business" "Save the xxx xxx" (which can involve just carpentry ... sure the first time my MC gets it, it includes several steps, including one that requires a bit of the ol' Ultra Violence but still...)

I picked the protagonist-like talent. I feel with my gamer brain and smarts, if you add a hero's ability and capacity to grow, I would likely outclass by a wide margin.

Because I can hyperfocus on repetitive grind and will likely grow far beyond what's needed go "beat the bad guy". After all, I hit level cap and mastered all jobs in Final Fantasy Tactics by repeating the first battle forever. Even the end boss died to two punches.

I go for his mom or motherly figure and have her take care of him for me.

Having a system requires doing it's tasks. Im lazy so no thanks. Having a loyal companion of my choice requires making another choice, so I'll pass on that as well. Having a cheat ability feels too situational and risky. It'd only work with plot armour so I'll pass on that as well.

Having the protagonist's talent without plot armour would usually just make me a worse protagonist, so that wouldn't make sense to choose either. For example, suppose I were to choose a CN novel. What would my protagonist-growth-rate actually look like when life-changing elixers and fated encounters don't fall out of the sky every time I step outside?

Minor abilities might be useful. I could just run and hide and beg for my life for three years. That sounds doable. If I were to do this, I think JP tropes would probably be the safest. CN or KN are often a bit to violent for this to work.

With that, I think high background is probably the safest bet. Education and technology probably means this would be the least drastic environment difference, and so offers the best chance of survival.

Edit: I suppose having a high background would need to require some additional information, such as how I actually get that high background in the first place. If Im born there, that means the entire events will take place between when I'm born to three years old. If I'm a transmigrator or possessor, that's a problem in and of itself. Best option for me would probably be to assume I'm randomly adopted into the family?

With that in mind, maybe having minor abilities would be more reliable.

Other: "Which of my most powerful characters can I 'mantle'? Alright, let's go with this guy." *becomes me with one of my character's power sets*

I would choose Background since that makes it easier to make friends in high places, incentivize the heroes not to kill me. Other than that, if I'm high up enough, hiring powerful soldiers as bodyguards or using my connections to run away.
I could also go for Talent or Minor Abilities. Talent so I can match the Heroes in battle or join their party instead. And Minor Abilities because if they can't find me they can't kill me.
