For a webnovel on this website ? No, It doesn't work. Think about it : The cover is very small. So you need a lot of contrast to understand what is happening. If you squint and look at your image, the only thing that you can somewhat decipher is the eye and the silhouette in the bottom. All the rest ? Just a big black blob. You need an image with higher contrast that really highlight what you want the audience to see

Work for WHAT? I've seen movie posters that were similar - but had text in a lot of the "dark spaces" (including title, stars, and maybe a critical quote), so to advertise a movie: maybe.
To sell a book or comic book? Probably not, at least without the title and/or author shown.
To keep the rain off the book? Depends on what material its printed with.
To line a birdcage? No, looks to glossy.

It's a stunning cover art-wise, but I agree with others that due to the limited size of the cover, it's very hard to see the female figure. If you make this figure larger, I think you'll have a stronger effect. See if you can bring the golden orange and figure about 2-3 sizes larger and see what that does.

Personally, I think it's too dark and detailed. It should work well for a paper cover or something, but online writing sites have different requirements.

Just wanted to say the cover looks really cool, super creepy in the best way. The giant eye and the tentacle vibes, totally nails a dark fantasy/horror feel.

Only thing I’d say is that there’s a lot of cool detail that might get lost when it’s shown small, like in thumbnail size. And it’s a little dark overall, so some parts are kinda hard to make out at a glance.

But still, it’s badass. ?
