Honestly just cruising when I write, but i'm a procrastinator so it takes forever. I shoot for 1000 words but laziness makes me want 500, but I hate when I am reading a story with 500 words per chapter and takes forever to update. So I need a way to write faster, that or I'm just gonna slow down my updates

Mean heard someone in a previous post like this saying something along the lines of ´reread your previous written chapter for ideas´ but I'm not an author so IDK if that's true.

Not really lack of ideas for me, more so sheer laziness to be creative. And laziness to write.

Write an outline first and disregard fine tuned grammer and wording. Once you get the rough idea of the chapter out, then go back and refine the writing as well as plot. If you outlined correctly, you won't have to rewrite the whole thing and can focus on polishing it up, which is much faster and less demotivating than getting the general idea out.

Try and improve your starting ritual to have more accountability, perhaps inform a friend when you will start writing and how much words you left off with

First, plan out your story, second make a schedule to write said story. Whether you sit down for half an hour once a day or longer, make a schedule so you’ll overcome your laziness!

Thought you were asking how to write with speed the drug not speed the pace in which you write. Was very confused and almost shared my best and worst writing experience.

if you are worried about the gap between chapter updates, then keep some chapters prepared in stock.

Dunno, I kind of just push my way through. Though, it helps a lot if you’re in the mood for writing, and to get in such mood, it’s usually best to start by reading something you like. Once the urge strikes, you start writing. You’ll be surprised how smooth the whole process goes.

As for writing when not really in the mood. I kind of just push through it, and after a while I start to get in the zone, and things flow again.

If I am to be pretentious enough to give someone an advice, then it has to be:
1) Read a good story until the writing mood strikes.
2) Write what you care about.
3) Have fun.

It's hard to constantly put out 1.5k chapters everyday.

You've gotta have a plan for your story though. The "crusing as I go" tactic works for me, but it doesn't seem like it works for you.

How I stopped being a procrastinator:

1). Changed how I look at my 'hobby'
2). Planned my story
3). Removed distractions (stop playing games, watching stuff, looking at socmed, etc.)
4). Self-imposed deadlines

Usually, when a question starts with "How to . . ." the answer is carefully.
However, for this one, you need to throw caution to the wind.

If you want to write daily, split a consistent time between when you plan and write. Usually, I would only plan around everytime i wake up until afternoon. After that, I stop whatever idea churning and just write whatever I've planned a few hours ago (in the night as planned). Never write in planning time unless you somehow got enlightenment and you feel that you must write at that exact time before you forget it.

Also imo, the most possible way i could think of for your is to change how you imagine what 'writing' is.

So you see, even if your brain is shouting you to write everyday, rn, or things, you still get that feeling where it is not the perfect time yet to write. You think that to 'write' is no small deal and that you can't just write because of 'wanting to write feeling'. Just fuck it. Make writing as small as playing game or wasting time.

Outline the story. Most people misunderstand it. It's not idea rather some thing concise. Write the entire story before.
If you are lazy then put some music on. There has to be a scene in your story has get's you hyped, imagine that and start writing.

I mean, once I get going I don't really stop. Its just that random questions decided to pop up in my mind that I need to go search up on google at that exact moment, breaking my flow. Guess what I'm trying to say is that I get distracted easily.

Get rid of distractions then. Just you and your sriting tools and a self-imposed challange (maybe even with a small reward after it)
