That sounds about right (concerning limitations) and your current record is impressive.

I'll see if I can get in some of those short bursts too. Any words is progress, I suppose.

I'll ask about it. If I get it prescribed, I'll go for it.

Very true and thank you again. :blob_cookie:

My family doctor (before the practice was shutdown) recommended that to me as a non-surgical means to deal with my frequent nosebleeds. I remember being told it shrinks the blood vessels or cauterizes them. But my workplace would disapprove, strongly. :blob_sweat:
You dont even need a prescription anymore, least where I live. You can go to a dispensary and get some edibles for like 20$

Different strains induce different effects tho. I would suggest asking which are good for pain relief or helping to focus. There no adverse effects beyond being hungry and making trips to taco bell late at night. So I doubt any doctor would ever tell you NOT to. Probably wouldnt be their first suggestion tho.

But that's because weed is effective as a pain relief and if you chose those over medicine, doctors and big pharma lose money

It's pretty clear you're not experiencing just a distraction. I can't stop you if you really want to, but if your condition is that severe, I recommend you avoid writing until you resolve it. Don't fuck with your health
That is a very good suggestion and I have been doing just that for awhile now. I've only written half-heartedly and those stories are not exactly the best I can accomplish. I believe that is what I reached out here to see if there was something else I could other than wait. :blob_sweat:
This literally happened to me the other day. I actually woke up with a headache and had it for the entire day. I tried to push through it but I couldn't. So I did a little editing. Did a little plotting. Cried. Then I tried to sleep it off but that failed lol.
Aww. I can see you wanted to keep going, but, yes, I believe you did the correct thing and called it a day. That was smart of you.
I reread my just the previous chapter and then there is a sudden willingness to continue
This I can understand and I have done that before, but that was when this pain wasn't being this distracting. I do think others will like hearing about this suggestion and, if they haven't tried it yet, I believe they will give it a go.
In case of physical discomfort, stop writing.
I have written while tipsy before because there was a sudden surge of idea. Every time I feel inspired the surrounding doesn't matter. Vice versa, when I'm lacking the drive nothing can push me to write. Not even a nice cosy spot.
Yeah, I can get behind that logic and nod in understanding over that same shoulder. I do remember my incredible writing sessions whenever I was in the mood. I guess being in pain, no matter what other conditions make it ideal, it will throw me and anyone out of their groove.

Now that is news to me. I guess this sort of information wasn't advertised as widely because of those big two practices and producers you pointed out. I'll have to take a peek inside one of their dispensaries and ask around. Can't hurt (hopefully) to try on a good weekend off. :blob_melt:

Thank you all again for your suggestions and sharing each of your experiences here with me (and us all). I'll be trying a lot of your suggestions out and judging what best will work for me.

I didn't actually cry tears lol. But yeah I was at a point in really wanted to express, and I couldn't do it properly because of the headache. So I jumped on Cyberpunk, and bounced back and forth on YouTube and reddit to past the time XD

I just made do of what I'm able to achieve. I have bad toothaches and damn, it's not that easy to write. It throbs there and vanishes again before appearing like your enemy from hell. Inspirations gets distrubed and you find things Annoying.
Had this happen to me for a over a year. Get a consultation. After doing mind yoga and getting rid of the pain, 4 months ago the thing snapped and broke. I was eating a super soft cheese puff. If it stings and keeps coming back there is some nerve damage being done.

What I tend to do is leave and ignore the problems/distractions. I mean, I can easily just get up and walk to the middle of an abandoned lot and just stay there and type on my phone.

Some sort of speech to text program could help if it's migraines from physically typing out or writing things out. I'm sure there's a freemium version that isn't a hassle to set up somewhere.

Edit: And no, once the tooth broke there was no pain because the nerve was simply dead.

Ah, those websites are definitely distracting for me.

That is an interesting idea to use speech-to-text. I'll have to play with one of the free programs and see how well it works (I'm concerned about its grammar though).

Thank you both for sharing your painful experiences. I'll be sure to brush extra good tonight. :blob_hide:

If I'm distracted, then I just need to force myself to focus... It doesn't always work, but it works 95% of the time.

If I'm actively hindered by stuff like physical pain though, then I'd need a miracle to work.

Miracles do often times happen, but I believe there is a limit. I have tried focusing before and that was still a not fun experience. Though I'm happy to see that you can work through the distractions. Just be sure to not make it all work. It's a sweet change to play with our stories. :blob_cookie:

Ah, well, I can do it only because of ADHD meds... >.>

But yeah, writing is super fun. I really want to be able to do it more often... It's hard to properly organize my schedule to fit writing into it though.

Thank you for revealing that about yourself. I've taken some thought on what you said and I am stepping over a line talking about this. I am slightly concerned, just slightly, about whatever meds those are. I'll explain.

Now I don't know the specific kind of meds you're taking, but I do want to warn you that some of those ADHD meds having unexpected results. Some types will help everyone focus, yes, that is very true. It also drowns out any wandering thoughts. Yes, I know that is the medication's job. The meds keep our minds on the chosen task, whatever that may be, and to not branch off towards another task. But, for me when I used to take such medication (back in the 90s), I felt it had given me a narrow mind without room to think outside this too small box (my head). I would be okay with it as an academic supplement, that stuff helped me study, but not as a hobbyist being creative it had caused me to be incapable of inspiration. I couldn't think of what to write next or even doodle on a paper. I could read just fine, watch TV without looking elsewhere, or be the best listener there could be in the room. I just couldn't come up with an original thought or response towards anything. I was like a zombie with one thing on my mind (too focused?).

That was decades ago and that there is why I am only slightly concerned. I would have expected there to be improvements with the meds they used to give to those with ADHD or, in my case, ADD. Thank you for hearing me out. :blob_cookie:

Ah, mine just help me get distracted less often and procrastinate less on the things I set out to do. I can still be plenty creative with the meds I'm taking. AFAIK they're just neuro-stimulants for a specific part of the brain.

And also, it definitely doesn't drown out my wandering thoughts... It just helps me have them less often when I need to stay focused on something.

For me, I haven’t figured what helps me focus, and when I have the inspiration to do something, I might not have any interest of continuing until 3 days to a couple months later (as seen by my posting history). Even when I want continue, there’s a good chance I’ll miss my window of interest.
Anyways, eat, being full helps at least a little bit.

Mine (when I took them) just helped me focus on sleeping in class. :blob_sleep:

That is relatable. Speaking of which, I'm feeling a bit peckish. Thank you for sharing your experience and bringing food up. Time for me to hunt snacks. :blob_cookie:
