Just write about a toxic and very jealous girlfriend who doesn't mind killing other people. If you remove the "girlfriend" part (in case they don't have any kind of relationship), you get a yandere.

Depend on your aproach of yandere... light mode just make a super jealous and possessive gf
If u want to increasse the hardcoreness of the yandere u will need to start adding archetypes from horror movies to her, stalking, disgusting things like putting blood on your food, kidnaping, etc. And remember yandere is not love is obssession so u need to have a focus point on that obssession

Yandere are the product of obsession. Usually after some key event that latches their mind around the MC. The event doesn't need to make sense, a large part of Yandere is that in a bubble their actions and motivations make little sense driven only by the obsessive need to be with their love.

Now this doesn't always mean they need to be crazed murderous wild cards. There are plenty of examples of Yandere who take on a more mild manipulative tone rather than a killing spree. Another key aspect of Yandere is their interests obliviousness to their actions for a fair bit of time. They hide their actions, blamimg the murder or changed opinions of others on anything but themselves.

If you want to write a Yandere into your story the most basic way to go about it is writing a character that gaslights your MC into liking them.

Yanderes are fundamentally about attachment. A true discerning connoisseur knows that they're more than just crazy and violent. They're attachment taken to a ridiculous over-the-top extreme into hyperfixation. Give them a reason for being that way. Some traumatic event in their past that's left them with a fear of abandonment, personality disorder, etc.

Yandere love interests are a kind of power fantasy, similar to OP self-inserts or Machiavellian masterminds. But the fantasy is to have someone so devoted that they'd do anything for you. They can rationalize taking any action for the sake of their obsession, no matter if it's immoral, self-destructive, or against all logic. They're intensely loyal, someone who would never betray you under any circumstance.

Everyone wants to feel desired, to feel needed. Yanderes are like the ultimate indulgence of that feeling.

The perks of the dere genre (or the problem of it, depends on how you see it) is that it's an simplification of how a... Well... Normal person works. It's tropes used by japanese authors to make simple characters. So, by this logic, it's not that complicated.
Make a character (girl or boy, you choose) that is obsessed with a love interest in a way where they don't allow the love interest to see or interact with others.

Just write about a toxic and very jealous girlfriend who doesn't mind killing other people.
Basically this.
