How does someone put Netorare in their stories without being shat on? Just had a sudden idea to use ntr in my planned story.

Gonna rephrase it into this.

How to use ntr while lessening people shitting on you.

That's wrong mindsheet imo. If u want to write NTR, u should expect to be shat on. Dont worry about shatters to much, thou. Each fetish has each own enjoyer.

Yeah, expect people to be unhappy about it. Though I was thinking of putting it in one of my stories for more of a tension type deal.

If the heroine gets raped, does it count as NTR? Or only if she enjoys it?

some people are on the anti-NTR bandwagon, and there is nothing you can do to change their minds that it is a bad thing.

There are many different kinds of NTR, and even the associated subgenres that include the nasty and hurtful stuff such as corruption and mindbreak.

I myself am working on making it fluffy and enjoyable.

But, the real is this. If you don't have a good reason to use it, then don't.

NTR should always be plot related, especially the consequences from it. Otherwise it's like a crappy scare tactic in a horror movie instead of a creeping tension.

Without being shat on? Good fucking luck.

Here are some:

If your MC the one cucking others. Put a trigger warning. Write netori instead of netorare or netorase. If you're MC is the one getting cucked, then he needs redeeming and vengeful qualities that people can jerk off to. Specifically the revenge aspect of getting back at the cheaters. Take Tanaka the Wizard for instance, he ends up cucking a pretty boy whose girl falls for the MC after she was saved.

NTR is such a great genre, and the only time it gets ruined is when people who don't like it in the first place, inject their hate and vitriol into it.

Not exactly. NTR is like the isekai genre at this point. There is potential for it to grow and flourish, but there's a reason why people meme and shit on the Ugly Old Bastard so much.

Keyword: UGLY OLD BASTARD

Just write it well. From my experience, almost nothing is taboo in writing as long as its implemented well.

One way to bring the reader's ire is to include things without reason like what happens with Game of Thrones when they just subvert your expectations just to subvert your expectations. People don't like it one bit. So consider why you implement this. Does it comes naturally from your characters and themes? Or you are just doing it for the sake of doing it.

Also, consider your audience. Is it something they would like or okay with? It seems that your story is unplanned and you just make up things as you go along. Now think of it, what kind of audience have you gathered? If they are the type of audience who such stuff, then there is little danger, if they are the type of audience who are uncomfortable with such things then you might have to think twice about it. However, you can still do as you please but then accept that your readers would shat on you.

The very best thing would be to planned such stuff in the start so that you can warn and select your audience in the outset. Then you will get an audience that are mostly okay with this stuff so you get as little fuss as possible.

if you want to have NTR in a story, be upfront and honest from the start so people can avoid it like a plague ridden corpse flung into a medieval walled town.

sooooo much this. dont just drop it in for "shock" factor or yolos unless you want to drive away most of your readers and be shat on like a bombing raid on germany.

Now, Netori on the other hand...    :blob_sir: :blob_sir:

I should just scrap the ntr idea for now. As said my story was already planned and was just additional ways of development. However, as I look into it I guess its not going to work. Anyways thanks for the tip!

Make the one who is doing the cucking more likable than the main character

*shrugs* You can't please everyone. I think some people who don't understand polyamory mistake my story for NTR and don't really give it a chance as a result.

Unfortunately, a lot of people don't even understand what NTR or cuckolding actually mean. They have this warped image of it. Let a girl literally talk kindly or laugh towards another guy than the MC and you will get flooded with NTR hate comments. No matter how hard you will try to picture the proper way your story works, there will always be some who see only NTRing and cuckolding. I know what I say. I'm slowly building up a brothel. I have 2-3 copypastes of long messages explaining the people who often ask or worry about NTR, why it isn't and how having pleasure focused relationship or even being an open person with lots of sex friends where everyone knows what they are getting into, is not a fucking NTR.

So well, if you are actually going to use NTR, then that will get even worse. Like people said, kinda the only option is to brace for it. Perhaps prepare some nice answers if you are like me and like to explain to readers the point of view taken in the story.

As the author who used netorare in my story. All I can say, if you are writing a story containing netorare, be very clear about it and give a warning to the readers at the beginning of your story. I highly recommend doing so in the beginning since the readers won't develop any emotional attechment to the characters just yet which won't give a lot of emotional impact of the netorare scene. That way most readers won't be shocked and give you bad ratings since that's how most story get bad ratings — misexpectations.

Another way to avoid getting bad rep by having netorare content is to make sure to implement it very well. Don't just use it as a cheap way of giving emotional "shock" effect since most readers hate that. Make sure you have a clear reason in why do you want to implement a netorare content in your story. Is it to create the baseline plot of a revenge story? Or something much more? Revealing or hinting a bad or even dark side of MC's personality or character? All in all be sure to use it if necessary.

But be aware, even when you do all those things, writing a clever netorare scene with clear motives and interesting MC's growth and yada yada. You WILL still get bad ratings just due to the nature of netorare content (I mean most people don't like getting cucked so its very understandable). So, my last advice is that if you are still willing and interested in using netorare. Be damned prepared to get one star ratings. Cause oh boy I got quite a lot.

Long story short: Don't
NTR is a niche, a small one at that.
As a Netori / NTR consumer I can tell: It's very very hard to do good NTR.
Also, 90% of the community hates it so... drive'em away from ch 1 by saying there will be NTR
