Just write it well. From my experience, almost nothing is taboo in writing as long as its implemented well.
One way to bring the reader's ire is to include things without reason like what happens with Game of Thrones when they just subvert your expectations just to subvert your expectations. People don't like it one bit. So consider why you implement this. Does it comes naturally from your characters and themes? Or you are just doing it for the sake of doing it.
Also, consider your audience. Is it something they would like or okay with? It seems that your story is unplanned and you just make up things as you go along. Now think of it, what kind of audience have you gathered? If they are the type of audience who such stuff, then there is little danger, if they are the type of audience who are uncomfortable with such things then you might have to think twice about it. However, you can still do as you please but then accept that your readers would shat on you.
The very best thing would be to planned such stuff in the start so that you can warn and select your audience in the outset. Then you will get an audience that are mostly okay with this stuff so you get as little fuss as possible.
