Someone told me the easiest way is to make two male lovers but don't make them explicitly confess with each other. Is that right?
Yuk, no.Someone told me the easiest way is to make two male lovers but don't make them explicitly confess with each other. Is that right?
Yuk, no.
Make it natural, don't force it.
Imagine good friends. That's it, that's all. End of steps,
They don't feed each other, that's gay.
They don't sleep on same bed, that's gay as well.
Just make them good friends, friends which care for each other, childhood friends. Friends good enough that you can tell your sorrows and can read mind
Well, yes, true, but here, we don't want to mess up with audiences. They should know that this is a no homo zone.I dunno acting like a couple to mess with people is exactly what bros do sometimes.
Guess I'm just too use to Arin and Dan from the Game Grumps.Well, yes, true, but here, we don't want to mess up with audiences. They should know that this is a no homo zone.
Yeah. Culture is a huge part. Where I live, grown men hug each other as greetings all the time and it's not weird and my dad says that when he was younger, most boys would walk home with their arms around each others shoulders and it was nothing strange. Also experiences growing up. At my high school, boys and girls changed in the same classroom for PE. Some might go to the bathrooms but there was no 'locker room' or anything and I was only told that was strange much later. If you're used to camping like I am, then a bunch of guys sleeping next to each other or sharing a blanket spread on the floor is quite normal. The day has arrived. Instead of saying "talk to a real woman," I can finally say "talk to a real man."
In terms of actually writing straight guy friendships, first consider the culture of the setting. A setting more similar to modern settings would be more conducive to the male characters acting like they're gay. But normally this behavior is done in an over the top type of way. Like I don't just hold hands and hug my homie, I do it in public and make fun of his girlfriend for still being stuck at looking each other in the eye.
In cultures where this is less accepted, there are still constants. Trust, loyalty, and compassion are critical to such a relationship. Just like how they are for all friendships regardless of gender and sexuality. Make two bros who are willing to go through hell and back for one another.
And if you're lacking knowledge on minute interactions, go outside.
I remember there was this one very old manga where two male best friends would always kiss each other since the author legit thought kissing was a greeting in AmericaYeah. Culture is a huge part. If you're looking for good bromantic reference, I suggest watching the Chinese drama Guardian. It was amazing and so much was conveyed by simple actions, like when Shen Wei knelt in the rain all night so a doctor would see Zhao Yun Lan or when Yun Lan gave Shen Wei his jacket when he went out in the mountains and Shen Wei continues wearing it long after it's necessary (which is how his true identity was revealed) and when Yun Lan's phone has alarms so he could remind Shen Wei that he has a class to teach. All bromances should be judged against Guardian. Just watch the interviews between Bai Yu and Zhu YiLong and you'll get some good bromantic moments with their in jokes and just general attitude towards each other
