So, I recently finished posting my first book, and I'm working on a sequel. Now I'm left with a Dilemma.

Is it better to post the sequel with the first book so it's all together? Or should I start another entry and just link to it?

The first one seems better for the format of the site. Helps maintain your previous readership too.

Since you are a new member, so you might not know, but if you go to the dashboard, and create tab, there is a section called Misc. There you can link sequels.

And well, I prefer option 2 more

I think you should post the sequel with the first book. Maybe you can divide it into volumes.

A story with 200 chapters only need to find 5 new readers every day to reach 1K views/day, which will put you on the front page most of the days.
On the other hand, a story with 10 chapters needs plot armor. There is no other way.
Go with the first option if you are writing for otehrs. Option 2 if you are writing for your self. That's what I believe.

i created a whole new page for the second volume of my first story. It just FEELS right. Like fine, you'll lose a few readers maybe, people who don't know where to find the second volume or don't even know you made one.

Who cares? I always say that if your stories cant stand on their own, they arent worth continuing. I almost never actually advertise any of my stories, at most i just left my readers know i made a new one and that's it. i just post chapters, and if that's enough to help it gain popularity then i know its pretty good and worth working on.

Or you can be like me with less than 30 chapters and still get on trending because I'm just that good. You know, god's favored son and all that. Wait, that IS plot armor...nevermind.

If your goal is to get the attention of a traditional publisher, I would go with the second option. Otherwise, just do what you want.

There is a specific answer here. If your story is basically 'The Same, but More!', then it's the first.
However, if the sequel is about the child of the first story's MC, if most of your characters change, if the Genre itself changes, then it's the second.

For example, you could have a seven volume story about the classic Isekai'd Hero. Then, the character gets sent home, and the story changes to a Supernatural format for the next four volumes. Your readers would be upset if you kept all of that under the same title.

That's what the Misc tab is for, though I haven't had a chance to use it yet, lol.
