When I was posting 2 chapters a day while always changing posting hours each day, so as to be on the home page as much as possible for every timezones, I had hundreds or thousands views. But that's annoying and unrealistic so I stopped

One of my stories has only 2 regular readers that I see everytime and I'm happy, they're cute and they say nice things :3

I am convinced at this point that those who ask this question on the forums (it happens a lot) deserve having few readers.

Many of the people who are successful have voluntarily spent time creating guides on this, and just about every other question other authors have. They exist and can be searched. Rather than do the leg work to research the very skill they are trying to learn, people keep yelling into the void to give them responses, which will end up being luck of the draw as to who actually responds.

This particular question irks me for two reasons. First, I wrote a thread on it. Second, this is like basic author 101 stuff.

Yes, yes, we're all learning blah blah blah. There are so many great resources not just here, but everywhere, for free. The forums aren't google. Before I started writing in earnest, I sat down and forced myself to do 80 hours of research on topics like this. That wasn't asking on the forums. That was googling, watching videos by successful authors, reading discussions and gleaming what I could from them.

If you really want to get more readers, the actual real trick is to make yourself into an author. Learn the trade. Take it seriously. You want more readers? Be prepared to compete with people who take it seriously for those views.

Tis definitely luck. I got the consistency, but not the luck, hence my work is trash if we gonna base it on the number of readers meter.
Just checked one of your books. I'd say you got fairly decent numbers, but your posting rate was a bit high. Space out your posting rate to twice a week or even once a week, so you can have your stories cycle through the listings more thoroughly between each post. That way, you'll have more time to attract more readers.

Tried that pattern before, still the same 'pickup rate'. Maybe it has something to do with my word count per chapter, which averages 4k-4.5k. Or I simply suck at my story-telling style; I often receive feedbacks from actual creative writers that I use weird words in my sentences. Or a combination of those aspects. Well, what can I do? English is not my native language, and I never studied creative writing in college in the first place.

In as much as I do not want to sound redundant, nor pretentious by using archaic words in my narratives, I try to diversify my vocabulary. But in doing so, I inadvertently mix up words that makes creative writers cringe. Lol

Either way, I give up. Thank god for automated release features; I can just upload and forget.

Consistency is key. Those that stay, see your vision. As your story grows, ask them to share
