The three I actually worked on did alright in the beginning. I put out chapters pretty fast for them and my second two already gave me a good following that brought in some views. Hard to give exact numbers but all I can say is that the only thing that matters is consistency. Keep posting regularly and you'll bring in views and ratings. It's actually pretty easy to do well if you just keep going. Even then, I still remember when I was nameless. Was an interesting time.

I'll leave my numbers as well, but be warned. I put out 14 chapters in the first week, so the actual numbers are not as high as they might seem at first glance.
The first week shows 3k page views. Many of which were likely mine... I admit I refreshed my page a lot.
I also gained 68 readers. Which, ignoring the one time the story ended up on the trending, is by far the highest amount I have gotten in a week.
I hope this helps.

Cheers,

For my latest novel, which I have been posting for 6-7 days so far I have 6.1k views, 79 favorites, 235 readers, 14 chapters so far. Posted the first 5 chapters when I uploaded the series and then 2 chapters a day most days. But I will say this series was on here once before I deleted it on my old profile, so that might have played a factor as well.

Honestly, I can't remember. I think I got ~1k views in the first week, which was incredibly shocking to me. I was expecting at most single digits for months, since my story isn't really a typical web novel. Happy Daikon Dance :blobtaco:

I don't remember the exact number, but I found my notes that say I got 200 readers in about a week and 10000 views in a bit over three weeks. I do remember though that I expected to get at most half that number, because my previous story got way less.

My story exploded beyond my wildest dreams and I honestly have no clue why :sweating_profusely:

Looks like around 200 readers and 5000 page views in the first week. But I imagine a not insubstantial number of those came from people who already knew the work from the Royal Road release. So I'm not sure exactly how well-received it would have been on its own merits.

Title. How many readers/pageviews did you get during the first few chapters of your novel?
The stats for mine were a little skewed, ngl. I managed around 200 if I remember correctly, and that was on the second day of the work's release. just checked my stats and between the 17th and the 23rd of the month I managed to get 456 readers and that was with 18 chapters released, 2/3 each day for that period. As for pageviews, in that period I mentioned above, I revived 31,617, but I feel like I managed to reach the top 9 trending within trending within that period, so that would have inflated the figures massively I just checked and found an AN where I mention the novel had been up for 5 days and I hit 10k views. Views are quite easy to get mind you, you just need a decent cover that depicts a female and they all increase drastically (on a side note, I do find it annoying when a novel's cover depicts a woman and the actual mc is nowhere to be seen. obvious clickbait XD). I would recommend looking at valid reads and views on each chapter, since readers only accounts for those with profiles who add a novel to their reading list and not people reading without logging in. ?

oh, one thing I noticed when posting a side project fic was the time you are up on the 'new novels'. If you are up there for a while, you will get far more views than not, something I suffered from since I was up for a short time and a bunch of other works were posted at the same time. post a new work on a Friday evening/Saturday and if you are fortunate that no other new novels are posted, you might get a high amount of traffic.

Readers? Two friends of mine quickly joined as readers, but for new fans I didn't get new readers until after the second week. Same with page views.

It's a work in progress, just a slow one. I'm thinking being an NSFW smut story that takes itself serious doesn't sound interesting to others. :blob_hmm_two:

500 day one I'm just over a month in with 60k views just under 800 readers. Really stoked about it.

Could I ask for some advice on how you managed that achievement? I'm 50 chapters in and reaching 27k views total:(
