How much chapters should I keep in reserve for a new series.

6-10 is a good amount but it's better for both your readers, consistent scheduling, and your sanity that you have 20+ chapters ready. At least enough for 2 months so that if you get sick, have writer's block, and/or drop the ball for a few days then you'll still have time.

This. I didn't do any for my story, and in order to get advance chapters I need to write more than one a day, since I have been posting daily
