I've written over a million words total.
Insane! How long did that take you?
Thanks! I managed to completely burn myself out by doing that. I just recently got to where I can sit down and really write again.
It seems to me that it was all worth it cause man your work looks good! Goodluckkk
Aside from the paranoia about acid rain and nuclear war, it wasn't too bad (and there was a bit too much Big Hair - a little is nice but EVERYWHERE? Ick).
Though we did not appreciate how good the music we had was until the next generation started putting out their crap... :s_tongue:
AHAHAHA. I absolutely love big hair. Like I’m a huge fan. And the music part is just so true ugghhhh, it keeps getting worse as generations pass. Someone send help ?

There are always bright spots within the music industry, but more stuff is churned out every year, and it seems the absolute worst of it is what becomes popular. Just check out college radio stations or Deejays willing to play stuff not on the "Top 40" or Billboard's Top 100 songs and you'll find some gems, even in the worst musical genres (same is pretty much true of writing as well - the more there is, the easier it is to find the bad stuff, especially when some of it somehow resonates with an influential segment of society to create, say Twilight or Fifty Shades of Gray and push good works to the bottom of the heap)

LOL I asked them to show off silly.
Honestly reading your publishing history made me really proud. Not only did you publish, but you also went out of your way and tried. I hope your books get the recognition they deserve one day!

Are you playing with me sir/ma’am!? So how was life back in the 80’s

MIL!? FPLOKIJHTRSCMK ?. Now I’m wondering why you deleted a mil too. Sus ?
Well I was a kid in that era, remember some stuff from when I was like six or seven years old, was in latinoamerica, down south of Dominican republic, things were a lot slower back in the day. I remember the hurricans, the first car I ever saw they were not as common, there was a lot less delincuency and we used to climb trees, run bikes on the street, and play around in the mud when it rained. I remember late at night friday 13 the series and other horror related shows or movies, the king movies were everywhere late in the 80s start of the 90. I remember windows 3.1 launch and the first cell phones I saw. Big as bricks, only the rich had them. One guy that was a big shot in the korean textile factory had it. Everything was like magic. I remember when Email became more common and all the teenagers started creating one even if they didnt have a computer at home. The stolen internet passwords to connect dialup, and WrItIng LiKe ThIs, was cool.
I remember captain crunch going down and get jailed. Movies, american cartoons on the saturdays. Dragon ball paralized the country from 3 to 4 PM, no one missed an episode, and all highschool computers had some supersayan as wallpaper. The 90s were cool man.
Music was great, black sabath, metalica, the Nu metal came hitting hard. Windows 98, Xp, the best ever.
Then came the 2000 after 2002 things started to change, the fucking regaeton started rotting the music sector. thigs got weirder and weirder then in 2007 everything went to shit and the rest is history. Now we are here.

You sound like you were living THE life. It’s nice to reminisce on these days from time to time. I think it’s beautiful you had a chance to live that childhood. I hope life always treats you well :)
I actually write around 2k words per chapter; my newest one is my longest chapter to date lol :P
Hey that’s an accomplishment! Currently I’m trying to reach 2k

No really, I only told the "good partd" after the hurricans. It was bad, really bad. My neigborhood was poor, like dirt poor, hunger was common. There was no drugs and lot less violent, but there was more than a few deaths by desease, especially advanced stages of HIV from 95 to 2010 more or less. The holes in the Zinc roof make it hard to sleep when a droplet is falling in your head when it raines. There was no running water, we had to carry it from the sugar factory almost 500 meters away. we had 24-48 hours of blackouts every week. We were poor and not happy about it.
No man, I am living the life now. Life is good men, life is great.

Oh my that’s terrible! You truly are a survivor. Honestly you deserve nothing but a good life now, and I’m glad it is :)
4K words for the prologue if the readers are happy then that would be great.
I’m sure they will be! Every book has its audience.

Excuse me for being a jerk. But no one deserve anything. No matter how hard life beat you, it owes you nothing. No matter what it takes from you, life wont compensate. Take it with you own hands or just stay there and cry.
But, that is just my opinion.

But you’re living a better life now aren’t you? Isn’t that compensation? But I mean I do understand your perspective, especially if the world keeps hurting you. The truth is, life will always beat you up. What truly determines your happiness is you. You choose how you want to react to whatever is happening to your life. The hardest part is to choose happiness in the middle of a storm. You’d have to be very strong for that. I wish you strength if you don’t believe in compensation, just strength to keep you going. ?

Yeah, I am living a great life. But for that I had to leave the hood, get away from all the people that dragged me down. I realized I am stronger on my own and time has proven me right. But is not destiny, I took hard decisions that would benefit me in the long run, it worked. Still, the "coincidences" of life just made it hard for me, not easier. In the end my paranoid nature allowed me to redirect resourcess saved for other situations towards those unexpected things, that way I still came on top. Unfortunatelly I am getting old and my body is starting to falter, I mean I am not "broken", but I got a few minor limitations that I didnt have before. Is nothing massive but is annoying. So life will get harsher in the future, so I need even more resources to cover up for the new problems that might show up. And I got to do it all on my own. Is do or die.

I can’t help but feel proud of you man! even when some parts of your journey weren’t planned, they still made you the stronger version of yourself you are today. I find your story to be truly inspirational :)
